We spent six nights in this beautiful and loved every minute of it, from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out! The room was spacious and beautiful, and the attention to detail (like a welcome fruit platter and a sprig of fresh rosemary & lemon/lime to compliment the gin & tonic, candle & bath salts for a bath) in the rooms was lovely. The lobby area is stunning. The restaurants and bar is very chic. We enjoyed an amazing g buffet breakfast every day, with a la carte as well as a beautiful array of buffet foods (including a complimentary champagne!). The area that the hotel is located in is very safe, located in a one-way pretty cobbled roadway and surrounded by the most beautiful French-inspired architecture, housing galleries and interesting retail outlets. . A couple of lovely cafes in the street and lots of restaurants in walking distance. It was close to two metro rail stations (within a 5-10 min walk). Staff were all very friendly and professional, and all spoke great English. We can’t recommend this hotel enough. It was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in, and would stay here in a flash if we are fortunate enough to get back to...
Read moreCould be a great hotel if they learn how to learn to handle mistakes and issues. During the night the air conditioning/heating created a small lake in my room. Reporting this in the early morning before heading out, there was never a word of apology, and a speedy solution to the problem reported. Arriving after 10pm at the hotel, room key does not open and reception, without ever apologizing for mess asks for a change of room. Well, what I already advised in the morning. So I drag my things to the new room to find out that the courtesy bottle of wine disappeared and there was no sign of acknowledging from the hotel for the mess created. Place has a lot of potential but need to get the basics right. Why do they ask for contact details at check in if not capable to use? Why cannot get the minimum of apologizing for a mess created...
