I would like not to write this review, as our first experience at this restaurant was very nice - we were in a rush and ordered our food immediately after we were handed the menu, and the waiter did his best so that we got the food quickly. Steak was tasty and our wine was good. That was the reason we decided to come here for the second time, which was a mistake. The waiter was different that time - unpleasant, and seemed not willing to help us select the right meal. I think he then forgot about our steak - we received it almost after 50 minutes, when a guy next to us who came after us was already eating his steak. And guess what - the steak was completely raw in the middle, although we asked for medium. And as it was quite late already and we were not in the mood to fight, we decided to eat at least the outside parts that were more or less cooked. That was a mistake. There were only a few people left in the restaurant, and when paying, we noticed that the kitchen personnel was collecting leftovers from starters/sauces for the meat and putting them in separate big bowls - you can think for yourself what they do with it further. But I would not eat them after what I saw. And the main reason I decided to write this - I got an awful bowel infecting after eating here. Skip it if you want to spend 5 days exploring the city, and not being closed...
Read moreNice settings and the service was excellent, we probably got one of the best to attend pur table, he was really nice, professional and always smiling.
We ordered 2 appetizers, the bbq provolona and the eggplant; the first one excellent, the second was average. As for the main course, we had the “entranã” and the “bife chorizo” with 2 sides of spinach and fries. They were all excellent.
Overall excellent considering the atmosphere, the service and the quality. A definite recommendation!
2nd visit in 2023: We brought the rating down from 5 to 4 stars because of the service we got this evening. Plus we were seating on the mezzanine which much more noisy, especially with a group of tourists thinking they are in their private dining room…
The food was good and the quality is consistent to what we had in 2022. However our server made 2 mistakes: 1. Not changing our plates after we had our appetizers before serving our entraña (steak) and 2. He forgot the fries à la provençale, so by the time he brought them we were almost done with our steak!
The appetizers were as good as the 1st visit: eggplant parmesan in tomato sauce and BBQ provoleta. Our friends ordered the gnocchi and a side mixed salad. We also had the milanesa...
Read moreI'm very surprised at the great reviews of this place. This place serves, at best, mediocre quality meats.
We ordered lots of things from the menu, spending nearly U$S 150 on the whole meal, so we tried lots of their offerings, but nothing really stood out. Some of the meats were burnt (the molleja especially), many of them lacked flavor (we had the chorizo de cerdo casero, you can get much much better chorizo at Chori a couple blocks away), and this is definitely nowhere near the caliber of meat you'd expect from Buenos Aires. I've had better provoleta at other locations. For a grill, the quality they delivered was disappointing and honestly, for Argentina, embarrassing.
Our server was OK, did not have the best disposition but also was not horrendous, and brought out our items within a reasonable amount of time. The wine was very good. The salads were completely inedible, we took one bite and did not finish them. The side of fries that came with one of our dishes was soggy. The pancakes with dulce de leche were very tasty.
Overall, I would not come back. I am giving them 3 stars instead of 2 because the wine and dessert was good (and the service was passable). Everything else...
