RAMEN NIRVANA with the SWEETEST, MOST KNOWLEDGABLE STAFF!!!
Don’t let the unassuming appearance of this hidden gem deceive you. It may not have all the neon bells and whistles you’re used to seeing in Palermo SoHo, but what it lacks in glitz it more than makes up for with ramen so glorious you’ll swear you’re in one of Tokyo’s top restaurants!
After poring over the menu for a good 30 minutes (how’s a girl to decide among multiple masterpieces?) I finally took Thomas’s suggestion and settled on the miso black. Thomas did not disappoint, and the fragrantly steaming bowl of noodles was so RIDICULOUSLY delicious that I seriously considered ordering a second helping.
Thomas, btw, was the apotheosis of an amazing server. Not only does he know the menu and dishes like a ramen BOSS, he also has a wonderfully natural and incredibly genuine conversational style. In fact, he was gracious enough to take a few minutes to talk American movies with me - in English, no less. Plus, he didn’t shame me for my embarrassing and utterly barbaric request for a fork. (You can take the girl out of rural America, but you can’t take the rural America out of the girl.)
If you love ramen - hell, if you love noodles of any kind - make a beeline to Chinofino - you will not be...
Read moreGreat place to have Ramen, they do have different varieties worth trying. If you like hot and spicy ones I definitely recommend you the Tokyo Fire Ramen. And if you want to Try something different that blows your mind.. try the Black Miso ramen. The broth is made of chicken, the ajitama it is perfectly macerated (for 2 days) and tastes awesome, the chashu is good but I prefer it more roasted, either way its taste is delicate and tasty... the noodles are perfect, they not only have the ideal texture but also get the flavors in ìt which blows your mind. Besides Ramen, you must try the Baos... these have the cloud texture and they offer different fillings for all preferences. I tried the Hot chicken one (cant remember the full name) but it was amazing and you should try it. They do have delivery and take away during the week but on weekends you can have your meal at the restaurant, i definitely recommend the last one as you get to have the full experience from eating there and seeing the action happening in the kitchen, and if you are lucky enough .. you get to see how they cut and make the noodles. I consider myself a Ramen Hunter in Argentina and this one is definitely in my personal top 3....
Read moreIn the bustling streets of Palermo, one may stumble upon an establishment with an almost comical name, Chinofino . But do not be fooled by its whimsical title, for a visit to this eatery promises an experience that is nothing short of extraordinary.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by a staff that exudes warmth and hospitality. The proprietor, Tomas, is a friendly character who adds to the charm of the place. Admittedly, the establishment itself is not much to look at - plain and unassuming. However, the true star of the show is the food.
The bao buns are simply divine - fluffy and bursting with flavor. But it is the ramen that steals the spotlight. The broth is the deepest, richest and most complex I have ever tasted. The blend of herbs and spices is nothing short of remarkable, and each spoonful is an experience in itself. Despite feeling full from the bao buns, I could not resist finishing the bowl of ramen.
Moreover, the prices are reasonable, making Chinofino an affordable option for anyone seeking a culinary adventure. In conclusion, I can confidently say that I have found my new go-to ramen spot in Buenos Aires, and I highly recommend that others...
