Here's the thing about Buenos Aires: You can get Parilla or Italian on just about every street.
After a month of typical Argentine restaurants: Pasta, Beef, and French Fries, we wanted something different.
After being disappointed with the Chifa at Mamani (read my review) we were still looking for an alternative to typical Argentine restaurants.
Dobar Tek is the answer.
Like some restaurants here you ring the doorbell to get in.
You'll be greeted like old friends and escorted to whichever of the three levels you prefer.
Adriana and her daughter Clarita work the kitchen, and Andriana's husband/Clarita's dad, Daniel, and Clarita's husband handle the tables.
Ever work with Phyllo Dough?
It's a skill and art that few have mastered.
(think great british baking show)
Adriana is so skilled with Phyllo she teaches.
She can stretch the dough - without a tear in it - to 5' x 3' and it's so translucent you can see your hand through it.
Her pastries are as they should be - some are crisp like super thin cookies and some are rich and moist.
The Chocolate Ice Cream is decadent - richer than Gelato - richer even than Bassetts (Established in 1861).
And if you're a fan of Central European Food - which combines the subtle flavors of the Mediterranean with those of Austria - Dobar Tek will make you smile.
Don't expect your meal to arrive within minutes.
Your lunch or dinner is made fresh to order - all from scratch.

No ginger, no garlic, no palm sugar, no lemongrass, only limp green beans, and worst of all, no ( or very little) coconut milk. As one who has spent more than a little time in Thailand and has taken many a cooking course in Thai food preparation, I feel that what is advertised as Thai food on their menu ( and at the price they charge) really...
Read morePorciones abundantes, gastronomía aceptable. Excelentes postres. Ejemplo, no deberían cobrar cubierto y menos a...
