Such a bummer. I had been here before & loved it. We just got engaged yesterday before coming to dinner. It was in the notes of my reservation. Not one person said anything to us. The sommelier was supposed to come over when we asked about wine. Our server forgot to ask her over. We waited almost 30 minutes with no drink at all. I said $60 limit on the bottle. She suggested $88 (her favorite wine!) & it wasn’t worth it. Damn. The server took over 40 minutes to take our order. The steak was more than half fat; not center cut at all. I love a fatty steak & worked at one of Chicago’s top steak houses. This was end cut at best. The knifes were not sharp. Seriously difficult to cut the meat. How awkward. They moved our table during dessert to reset another table, & made us move to fit the other table from across the dining room, but at the end of the night. It could have waited 10 minutes for us to finish. Then we got the bill & were overcharged for something. We mentioned it & our server just walked away. Another woman came over to take the credit card & we had to tell her to fix it again. We paid $30-some dollars for bubbles, very yummy. No splash of champagne comped to celebrate our big day, no extra, no congratulations, no nothing. I came last year at this time & was blown away. It was perfect. Our visit last night was just down right awful. I will remind you that we ordered we’ll, spoke kindly, gave some wine to the sommelier & offered some to our server. I worked in fine dining & served tables for 15 years. This experience was just lack-luster at best. I am so disappointed with the experience at $300 usd. Don Julio 2 nights before was much better in every way. I sadly, will no longer be recommending this restaurant. I was one of your staunchest supporters & it pains me to withdrawal that love for your team. The ball was dropped so many times, it was embarrassing. You had the ability to be better than great. It didn’t happen. Please call me...

Really mediocre. I would have loved my starter - fried egg & zucchini - except that it was murdered by a bombardment of industrial salt. Listen, either let the food speak for itself (using good quality ingredients, herbs, etc); or if you're going to add salt, then at least use good quality salt (such as a few grains of quality sea salt, etc). Only MacDonalds has any excuse to massacre the tastebuds with industrialized salt.

I did enjoy my plate of artisanal cheeses: nice notes of pineapple, honey, marzipan. I also enjoyed my plate of embutidos - but would have liked some sort of description, as these are apparently an in-house production.

The house flan was a miss; I've had this dessert too many times before, including all over Spain, as well as other LatAm countries: the quality of this one was no better than an average mom-n-pop cafe version.

As a vermouth fan, the vermu list was nice to see - although the waiter failed this test. I was not familiar with 2 of the vermouths, so asked to try a drop of each. He was very reluctant. Look, it's easy: I can order a full glass, then after sipping it, return it - and you've just wasted an entire glass. Or you can help the customer explore the list, allow a tiny sample of 2 (or so) different vermouths, and let the customer select that way. This should not have been an ordeal, but the waiter made it something like that.

Overall, a very, very mediocre experience. Which begs the question: what is happening to the Michelin business model? With recommendations like this, Michelin is really...

This was the only spot in BA we had the intention of going to. We had just finished visiting a museum so we decided to go back to our favorite neighborhood. The wait was only 30 minutes. It was the perfect amount of time to walk over to a coffee shop, get an iced latte and walk back. We got there just in time. We didn’t even have to wait to be seated.

They sat us outside where it was bussin. Tourists galore. All up everywhere. We honestly had no business getting all the food we ordered when we had a menu tasting late lr that night. We stay playing. We got the chicken milanesa because duh. The salad was a mo brainer. I will always get a salad. We also got the gambas cos we stay doing too much. They also gave our table olives and empanadas to start. The starters really whet our appetites.

The chicken was so good. Topping it with the lemon provided really completed the balance. So damn good. The service was above and beyond. There was always someone walking around outside. Multiple people made sure every table outside was attended to. We ended up having to take our leftovers home. When I say home, I mean back to LA. I legitimately flew back to California carrying chicken....

Had a great time while celebrating at El Preferido with friends & family. Service was amazing, attentive and unobtrusive, you could barely see the staff but everything was taken care of. We were a large group (need reservations, the place is super busy!!) We had a selection of appetizers that kept coming at a good clip. Potato tortilla was amazing, so was their charcuterie, made in-house and dried in a side room. The morcilla (blood pudding) con huevos fritos was out of this world, served in a cast iron and cooked in their wood burning oven. Entrees we’re as good as everything we’ve had before. Memorable milanesas (specially the Bife de Chorizo, ribeye), Faina (chickpea bread) with Provolone, shrimp, etc. Their homemade deserts were to die for! Zapallo en almíbar (candied squash) with cheese, flan casero and their Zabaglione gelato gave our meal an amazing closing chapter! Their open kitchen allows you to watch the staff working non-stop like a well oiled machine. Very good wine selection, at many price ranges. If planning a trip to Buenos Aires this is a must visit!
