Play Hostel SOHO — Hotel in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

First of all this hostel is fine. It is like being in a student housing. The staff is not always friendly, you need to wait to use the showers, the only toilet upstairs is always occupied because it is also a shower. Once the TV is turned on, nobody turns it off and it is very loud if you want to sleep in room Tango. The kitchen has little utilities but just enough to cook a little. DONT PUT YOUR FOOD IN THE STAFF FRIDGE. Because they eat it even if it is labeled haha. It is not very clear which one is which. The price policy is very unclear. There is a lot going in the night. Big city I guess. But every night people keep coming in until 6 and the first started leaving at 4. Also the beds are not that stable and the lockers make a lot of noice. And omg people slept the entire day! No jokes. I could never really sort out my stuff without disturbing sleeping people. Never experienced anything like that. No big reasons not the recommend this place, it is just a little different. And the breakfast which is at the cafe downstairs is lovely and the waiter there...

I would not recommend this hostel. When I arrived the receptionist Leondro tried to charge me more than the price shown on Hostelworld and booking. When I asked him why the hostel was charging more than third party websites, he appeared to be annoyed. He does not speak any English, so communicating with Google translate was challenging. (I understand this is a Spanish speaking country, but hostels are international so it would be helpful for backpackers who are just visiting on a short vacation to be able to ask questions!) Throughout my stay, he was rude with me and made me feel uncomfortable as a solo female traveler.

The rooms were extremely hot. There were only two bathrooms in the entire hostel which meant often I had to wait a long time to use a bathroom. The showers were extremely dirty and flooded.

Apparently there used to be breakfast, but they no longer provide...

I woke up to find a BEDBUG the size of a nail on me and a quick look around showed three more bedbugs near my pillow... When I went out in the corridor to wait for the reception to open, I found another bedbug crawling on the floor... When I finally talked with the reception, they initially offered to change the linen but I would still be sleeping in the same bed for the second night (NEVER going to happen)... They finally agreed to refund me and I got to spend my day getting my stuff cleaned (at my own cost). While bedbugs can occur at any location, I was very concerned by their approach to rectify the problem, which seemed very minimalist to me. I ended up having a lot of horribly itchy bites from that night and I can't believe they would have had me sleep another night in the same bed, not to mention the other beds in the dorm ( this was in one of the...
