visited this restaurant with my family after craving asian food and was not disappointed!! i was feeling pretty nauseous that day and my appetite wasn't the greatest so all i had was miso soup and green tea which sufficiently restored some energy in me, miso soup was tasty and authentic to the ones i have back in east asia, my family got the ramen and my sister got the tasting platter – so value for money!! didn't taste the ramen bc my stomach wasn't feeling the best but it looked ok, 5 stars for the service!!! the waiter was excellent and could speak english and was super attentive and kind – if you're the waiter who served us and you're reading this i'm so sorry our tip didn't go through due to our misunderstanding of tipping culture, we had left a tip for you but it was returned to us as spare change and we mistakenly took it, i'm so sorry!! please know that you are a superstar and we were very grateful for...
Read moreI really hate giving bad reviews but this is honestly the worst Japanese I’ve ever had and does not do justice to Japanese cooking. I had a look in the kitchen and I couldn’t see any Japanese chefs I think perhaps they started this restaurant and have now moved on. The prices were so high and the food was less than average, overcooked chicken, sauce given to us in a plastic bottle, the only thing that was good was the wine (it is Argentina after all). I really feel sorry for the people of Buenos Aires that this is one of their only options for Japanese food! Also the salmon starter given to us complimentary (in photo) was obviously just a way to use up old salmon, it tasted like cat food, I had one bite and couldn’t eat any more! I’ve been to Japan and there is no way a Japanese person would be happy with the food here, the Japanese food in New Zealand where I’m from is miles better. Don’t waste...

On the other hand, some of the food doesn’t taste remotely Japanese. The person cooking this “oyakodon” really needs to Google for some recipes to understand what the dish should be like. The sauteed bits of breast were tough, and the gravy (which is supposed to be redolent of dashi) was extremely salty with not much umami. The sushi were the usual permutations of salmon, avocado, and cream cheese. But Buenos Aires’ sushi scene has advanced in recent years, and this restaurant should evolve with it.
On the plus side, the portion of fried shrimps was incredibly generous, and the quality of the shrimps was higher than I expected given the cost. So some dishes are still...
