Sheikob's Bagels — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

Ok…so seriously wow, where do I begin. I’m from Brooklyn and when I found this place it became my go to breakfast spot on the weekends. Every Saturday and Sunday I order my breakfast from here. At this point I’ve tried every bagel and every one is a hit. My favorite is of course the lox “the classic” (as it’s named on the menu) and THE bacon egg and cheese.

They also have daily specials that are not on the usual menu. They vary from a meatball sub, burrito to a chop cheese and more. Yeah you heard that right, a CHOP CHEESE in Argentina. Unfortunately, the chop cheese isn’t on the permanent menu but it was a great treat and they prepared it just like the bodegas on BK.

Dessert: They also have desserts that vary, their different variety cheesecakes are bomb. Their permanent desserts like the black and white cookies are authentic and delicious every time.

I really enjoyed the bagels here. I ordered the BEC on everything and a salt bagel with butter as well as their iced coffee. They’re real bagels and honestly I haven’t been able to find anything comparable in BsAs, so they get 5 stars just for that. They’re truly providing a community service in that regard. That said, the bagels are a bit small compared to what you’ll find in the US and tiny by NYC standards. Their everything does not have salt on it either and that’s a pet peeve of mine. Giving this place five stars because you won’t get a better bagel anywhere in Palermo. Definitely recommend, but just to keep realistic expectations, this is not a competitor for your standard NY or Chicago bagel producer. It’s good, but it’s not anywhere on the same level - some of the reviews are misguided a bit, but their bagels are the best in town and you should absolutely check this place out!
