I will never return here. After coming 3x in one week and ordering the same thing, 2-3 caprese empanadas each time, the 4th time I came in the same week, I once again asked for the same order -- 2 caprese while pointing to the empanadas in the glass display. The server at the same time pointed to the menu where I saw the word caprese and I said yes. What I didn't realized was she was pointing to the caprese croissant sandwiches. When two large croissants sandwiches were delivered to my table I said "this is not what I ordered" and she said yes, pointed to the menu where she pointed originally. Obviously this was a miscommunication, they are both called Caprese. Why in the world they would think I wanted two large Caprese sandwiches for myself rather than two Caprese empanadas is first of all dumb but whatever it was a miscommunication, fine. The problem is that they forced the mistake on me. They would not take it back and said I had to pay for them. I had planned to pay $9.200 for empanadas and now they are making me pay $27.000 for something I didn't want. I should have refused. Clearly these people don't care about their customer. Even more offensive is the fact that I had been there THREE times already in the SAME week, it was my forth visit! I could not have felt more disregarded and ripped off and therefore I will never step foot in that place again and I've taken my business elsewhere.
Since, I've found another place with vegan empanadas and turns out they are 10x better! And even half the price of the ones here! I've now been already 4x, it's called Coma Veggie and just a few blocks away.
So save your time, purse, and value as a customer and just head straight to Coma Veggie, so much better. Better vegan empanadas, better priced, and they actually appreciate you...
Read moreThis shop caters for a specific sector of the population, namely expat vegans and tourist vegans who are roughly a third of its clientele and wealthy local vegans who comprise the other two thirds. The food is prepared at night and so it is always cold and can be heated in a microwave. The prices are high for Argentina (especially if you opt for the smaller sized portions) and are almost on par with what you would pay for the same quality in Western Europe. Alas, the food is bland with not even a single spice or interesting sauce to make it more appealing. It is basically boiled ingredients with names and price tags. The service is very friendly but this is not rare in this part of Buenos Aires. On the 4th June 2019 at 12:15 I bought lentils and the larger size organic tofu and rice as well as the chocolate cake. I noticed a fifty something year old lady with long hair (the owner maybe?) who was standing behind the counter. I am sorry to say that I found one of this lady's long hairs (or the hair of another employee) inside the food which is why I will not buy there again. There was also a small stone in the lentil stew. On the bright side the chocolate cake was absolutely delicious hence the...
