The ladies at the front desk were pretty helpful in checking us in and offering information about what to do in the area. This was our first nights stay to start of a 6 week trip in South America. We had a private room, upstairs with the David Bowie theme---long story short, my husband woke up in the middle of the night(4 a.m. ish) with bed bug bites. We actually found bugs, eggs, and bloods spots in his sheets where they had been squished. He switched to a different bed in the same room and tried to go back to sleep. The following morning we were going to tell the front desk lady, but she was on the phone and had a line of guests waiting to check in...we decided we would go get breakfast and tell her when we get back. After breaking the news to the front desk about the bugs and actually showing them the bug we caught in a plastic bag, we didn't get a very helpful response. Basically, she denied that they had bugs and have never had to deal with this before( which reading other reviews...this is not true). She then proceeded to question where we have been and where we had been staying previously...insinuating that we brought the bugs with us. I assured her that was not possible because this was our first stay of our whole trip and that you can physically see the bugs and eggs in the bed and bed frame. She told me they had no other rooms available for us, did not offer a refund, did not offer a discount. We found another lady working who was a bit more helpful and at least went to our room and sprayed some sort of chemical to help. Overall I would NOT recommend this...
Read moreGreat place to stay, they deliver what they promise. Good location, streets you can walk on at any time of the day. Upon arrival, you walk into a reception area filled with warm, smiling people and the smell of fresh coffee, offered in the lounge area equipped with comfy couches, seats, and tables. You can also relax there if you arrive before check-in time. The hostel is located in what must have been a gorgeous building in its heyday, with long white marble stairs leading to a comfy coworking area with a good internet connection. The network name and password are displayed at every corner of the hostel, including the kitchen and other common areas. It's luminous, with an internal patio and a terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped. They also manage a WhatsApp group to coordinate extra activities, ranging from dancing tango to watching a movie or playing board games. The staff is proficient in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. I heard French as well, and some other language. There's no way staying at this place can go wrong. I stayed in a shared female room for 4 occupants. The room had 1 bathroom, a set of lockers, a small table, a couple of chairs placed by the window and in front of a large mirror. The only minor inconvenience I had was with the electric plugs. When I arrived, I had a meeting in the kitchen, which was the first place I found a 3-prong plug to hook up my laptop lol. Later, I found a couple more in the coworking area, but not in the bedroom. I'm definitely coming back next time I visit Buenos Aires. Thank you Fede and the...
Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of meeting Coni, who works as a Personal Relations Manager at Play Hostel Arcos From the very moment I interacted with her, it was clear that she possesses a natural talent for creating meaningful connections and ensuring every guest feels valued.
Coni's professionalism is impeccable. She approaches her role with enthusiasm, genuine care, and exceptional attention to detail. Whether it was handling special requests, resolving concerns, or simply brightening someone’s day with her warm personality, she made everything seem effortless. Her ability to anticipate needs and go above and beyond is truly remarkable.
What sets Coni apart is her empathetic nature and the personal touch she brings to her work. She doesn't just see guests as visitors but treats them as part of the extended family of the hotel. It's rare to meet someone who can juggle efficiency with such heartfelt sincerity. Coni is undoubtedly a gem in her field, and anyone lucky enough to meet her will instantly see why she stands out. My favourite events were the empanada night and the mate tasting. The best part was her idea of interoperating improv so that other people can understand and...
