Merienda — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

I’ve been here several times and always got good food & good service.

This was probably my 7th time going and there were different waitresses working than usual.

The pancakes usually come with a fruit sauce so I kindly asked the waitress if she could bring it to me and she made it seem like nothing was missing. She said she’d ask and that she’d be right back. (She never came back)

I waited 10 mins until I spoke to another waitress who said she’d bring me the sauce. When she did, i politely told her that my pancakes were cold at this point and she didn’t seem to care.

I barely ate my plate and politely expressed more than once that I wasn’t really satisfied and was still served with a full bill and some attitude from the waitress.

The service here was extremely disappointing. I asked for gluten-free options and ended up ordering scrambled eggs for myself and two regular dishes for my companions. After waiting, the waiter brought only the two dishes and completely forgot mine. To make matters worse, he placed my companion’s scrambled eggs with French toast in front of me – despite me clearly stating I can’t eat gluten. The small portion of avocado served with the eggs was overripe and unappetizing. Other tables were given water with their coffee, but we weren’t, and even after he was specifically if we need sugar, it never arrived. With so many great cafés in the area, there’s no reason to settle for this kind of carelessness. Perhaps the staff should consider writing down orders if they can’t remember them. Would...

I wish I could give a better review to a place with so much potential. Occupying a prime corner in the heart of Palermo Soho with a pleasing interior design, it should be an easy place to like. Unfortunately the portion size for our scrambled eggs and pancakes looked like it was from a kid's menu but at adult prices. The ham and cheese toast was marginally better but only in comparison. Also I have never ordered off the "merienda" part of a menu without the infusion, cafe or tea, being included. And not even a vasito of water on the side.
