Pausa de El Porvenir — Restaurant in Municipio de Cafayate

Avoid the dessert—and possibly the hotel.

My husband and I visited Pausa to try the restaurant and see the hotel (considering staying overnight). Unfortunately, our experience was shocking. We ordered chocolate mousse with candied oranges, only to be served one covered in blue and white mold (clearly visible fuzzy patches). When we pointed it out, the staff didn’t apologize—instead, they tried to claim it wasn’t mold. What else could it be? Spoiled fruit doesn’t grow fuzzy blue-green spores by magic.

They took the dessert back to the kitchen and didn’t give it back so we could make the photos and never replaced it or addressed the issue. If they can’t handle basic food safety with desserts, we have zero interest in dining here again—or staying at their hotel.

Mi estancia en este lugar fue simplemente increíble. Vinimos unos días a desconectar y todo superó nuestras expectativas. El entorno es mágico, como estar dentro de un cuadro.

El restaurante Pausa merece una mención especial: la comida es 1000000/100, cada plato es una experiencia en sí misma. La degustación de vinos fue exquisita y la decoración del lugar marca una diferencia total. Cada rincón invita a quedarse, contemplar y disfrutar.

El hotel es divino y la ubicación, simplemente ideal: a pasos del centro pero rodeado de paz. La atención es excelente, y cada detalle está pensado con amor. Sabores, naturaleza, comodidad y buen gusto se fusionan en un solo lugar.

Pausa es un verdadero oasis: buena comida, atención cálida y momentos inolvidables. Es descanso real, es reconexión.

The restaurant is part of the Porvenir winery and sits on an absolutely beautiful property. The dining area is mostly outside in a beautiful garden setting. It feels a bit Ibiza chique. U will definitely enjoy sitting down here. Lovely staff and good food. Would def recommend to...
