Tucked away in the heart of Bariloche, Carnero is a small and cozy fire-roasted kitchen that delivers one of the most memorable dining experiences in the region. This intimate restaurant punches well above its weight, offering world-class steak cuts, a thoughtful wine list, and a level of hospitality that makes you feel like a cherished guest from the moment you walk in.

What makes Carnero stand out is not just its size or warmth, but the precision and care behind every dish. The steaks—arguably some of the best in Bariloche—are fire-roasted to perfection, deeply flavorful, and expertly cooked to your liking. Yet Carnero is far from a one-note steakhouse. The broccoli and roasted pistachios soup is an unexpected highlight: comforting, creamy, and rich with earthy flavors. The grilled octopus is another must-try—tender, slightly smoky, and beautifully plated.

And then there’s dessert. Don’t leave without trying the hot and cold roasted berries pie, served warm and topped with smooth ice cream. The contrast in temperatures and textures makes this dish a showstopper and the perfect ending to your meal.

Behind it all is Chef Jason, whose passion and attention to detail are evident in every element of the experience—from the carefully balanced flavors to the welcoming, attentive atmosphere. It’s rare to find a place where the chef’s presence is felt in such a personal and intentional way.

Carnero is more than a restaurant—it’s a true hidden gem. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, you gotta try this place. It’s a culinary experience that’s both comforting and...

Creative Cuisine, this is the best description for the concept provided from the Chef Julián. This a small restaurant, but the amazing service, variety, quality, flavors, ambience, etc. definitely makes it big. With an Organic Malbec Wine (Lala Lá) from Mendoza, the gastronomic experience was just starting:

-Entrées: +Escabeche Veggies mixed with Smoked Meats with Lightly Toasted Bread. +Smoked Beef Tongue, Sweet & Spicy Veggies and that beef was so tender, that almost got melted in my mouth. Never tried anything like this before! (The Chef mentioned that it was a test! I hope many people can taste it too!) +Smoked Lamb kidneys with grilled onions and natural Yoghurt, so delicious!!!

-Main Course: +Smoked Picanha with Crispy Grilled Sweet Potatoes!!! +Pastrami with Home Made Mustard and Home Made Pickles!!! (tasting portion) +Smoked Beef Ribs with Home Made Pickles, Carrots and Radishes with Fresh Apple Juice.

I was unable to order dessert… ate all of this in 2 hours, but definitely worth it and planning to come back for another different tasting from the Chef Julián.

Thankfully,

Gabriel Resto Aranda, from Puerto...

My friend and I came here on a recommendation, that it had good food and a nice atmosphere. We shared a bottle of wine and ordered a couple appetizers. The atmosphere was really nice, clean, cozy, quiet, relaxed upscale, exactly what we were looking for. My Spanish is very poor, so I really appreciated the server trying to communicate in English. I tried ordering in Spanish and she was very patient. Also very attentive. Since we only had a appetizers I gave the food a 4. The empanadas we had were very delicious, crunchy, very savory beef filling with a good sauce. The bread with beets were also good. We also ordered the pork belly appetizer. It was well plated, and tasted good, but it was a little tough. It wasn't bad by any means, but not really exceptional. The empanadas were great, though. I would have been satisfied with just empanadas. I can't comment on the rest of the menu, but it looked good. I would recommend this place, definitely for a quiet chill place to enjoy some excellent wine and...
