Food: Food was amazing, the Korean Fried Chicken is amazing and my family loved the food they received. The Bibimbap was great, everything tasted fresh and amazing.
Service: When it comes to service, these people are absolute legends. My sister's fried rice had a long wait because they were running low on rice. They told us it would be a fifteen minute wait, which isn't even that long. During that time, multiple snacks were given as an apology for the wait, which was service that you just don't really get at many places. I have been to restaurants where they have made us wait 40 minutes for food with the only response being a 'Sorry, your food will get here eventually.' Multiple staff members came to give continuous updates on the Fried Rice, and it was just truly outstanding. Thank you to any staff member who reads this, you guys deserve all the praise possible!
Atmosphere: I took a gander in the reviews before I wrote this and saw someone leave a four star rating, all because apparently ''Decor is a little cheap and random.'' To me, decor is not the point of a restaurant, It's really just the food. With that being said, the atmosphere is authentic. You can tell the people there care about their jobs, and that makes the vibes super nice. It is clean enough (I don't care if a building shows a bit of age), Decor is cohesive and a lot of it is themed around Korean culture which is the opposite of ''Random'' for a place that is literally a Korean restaurant lol.
Overall I am coming 100% back again, truly a gem of a place. No...
Read moreUpdated 18 July. Sadly I did not have a great experience after the owners changed and can no longer recommend. The staff need more training and whilst the owner is nice the staff let him down. Poor dismissive service. Burnt food. Changing recipes. Unfortunately also the new owner is not korean and so lacks some of the knowledge behind authentic korean food. This can improve with time but it’s impossible to keep Alice’s Kitchen what it was before without this prior knowledge. It would be better to change the menu completely than use the name of the place with so much prior expectation.
(Edited to add the right photo! Xx) Love this family owned joint. Korean food is fabulous and authentic and their coffee and “other” foods were great too. Daisy the dog is a special highlight but having great kfc (korean fried chicken) nearby is fantastic. Highly recommend their kfc and get it in a set with soju and beer to make somaek (google or ask if you want to know!). Some of the best kimchi we’ve ever had. The cafe staff go by the principle of leaving you alone while you eat but are super attentive when you need them. Highly recommend, don’t miss out on trying...
Read moreIt was our first visit and we were excited to try it as we saw the great reviews. We were hoping we would become regulars as we love Korean food.
Unfortunately, the BBQ set we ordered was not to our liking, so we couldn't finish it. It came pre-cooked instead of grilling it yourself like other Korean BBQ places. The meat was not of the quality and flavour expected. Even the rice and side dishes were not to our taste.
Other than delivering the food, everything else was self-service. No friendly greetings when you enter or leave the place. So, service wasn't bad, just nothing noteworthy.
It was a bit disappointing, as our expectations were high due to the reviews. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. They have a decent menu, so hopefully, they have other nice dishes.
The space itself looked great. Played a mix of Kpop and mainstream pop music....
