New York Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Adelaide

Well. Where to start with this one. From the moment we walked in, got told to sit wherever like. But every table. And I mean every table had dirty dishes stacked on it. The table we settled on, I had to physically move all the stuff off the table and onto the table next door, then grab an unused napkin from the table next door to clean the table myself. Witnessed the waitress delivering kids food to a nearby table drop chips on the floor and they are still there haven't bothered cleaning it. No cutlery on our table had to ask a staff member for some which their body language seemed to insinuate that they weren't happy to do this. When our food eventually came out (we waited a while) we asked about where our drinks were and was given attitude as to that they will come out when they are ready. In asking for some water was told to get up and get it ourselves, it's over there. Seemed very under staffed but those who are here might want to reevaluate their career choice and might be better collecting a dole cheque than to be working here. Woolies who own this pub should be sending HR in as soon as possible to clean up this mess before the health inspector shuts this place down. After waiting more than 40 minutes for our meals (it was busy but not THAT busy), the ribs that came with my steak were cold, like not even warmed up and cooled down, like actually cold to touch. After managing to track down one of the few staff on the floor, she took my meal away and replaced the ribs. They were hot this time, but in the meantime my steak, chips and mushroom sauce had gone cold while my plate was in the kitchen. Also I was only able to find three small slices of mushroom in my mushroom sauce. The couple next to us waited 40 minutes for a bowl of chips.

We also discovered that the salt shaker on our table was filled with cinnamon sugar. When our drinks came, I brought this to the attention of the waitress and she took it away but never brought back a replacement, which I would have thought would be the obvious thing to do.

Overall, the steak was well cooked and tasted good but the negative aspects of the dining experience left a lot to be desired. Staff are few and inattentive. While the prices aren't extravagant, good customer service should be free and a wait of over 30 minutes for medium rare steaks is a long time when the place isn't even three quarters full. Very...

Interesting concept bar with limited outdoor seating. It's more a place for families and your usual punters in the pokies room.

I was sat next to a long table of children while their mothers had their little mother's club going. The children eventually went off and screamed the place down while the mums kept up their chit chat.

I guess you can't really control children so this one is on the mums who didn't bother disciplining their children.

Food was alright, I ordered the vegan eggplant parmigiana and it was a little oily. But still, props to them for having a vegan option on the menu.

Staff were quick and efficient with the ordering process while the food took a bit more time to prepare. That's fine though because they were super duper busy that day with majority of the tables being reserved.

It's really nothing special, if you want something that feels a bit nicer head to the opposite side where San Churro's is so you can sit in the courtyard...
