** Borsa need to be clearer about their cash payment policy. More and more people are moving away from businesses that refuse cash, so if they are accepting cash, they need to remove the no-cash policy from their menus, or potentially risk losing business.
Being in a group, we were told we had to do one of their group two- or three-course meals. Some chose one two-course option, and others chose the other two-course option. It got a bit messy when people who were doing the cheaper option were told they had to agree on which three pastas they would all share, and they all had to sit together in order to reach/share their food. Long story short, in the end everyone just ended up going with the easier option and paying the extra to do so.
I was very disappointed to see written on their menus that they don't accept cash payment, as that is what I intended to use to pay. (I will not knowingly patronise an establishment that refuses cash.) My partner and I had to give our cash to someone else and get them to pay for our meals using their card. I was very surprised to learn later that they actually did accept cash from some of the people in my group.
PROS The staff were friendly. My dinner was nice, and the serving size was good. Meals came out within a decent amount of time, considering how busy they were.
CONS Served a seafood dish to a vegan, despite her making it clear when ordering that she was vegan. One person couldn't eat their meal because it was extremely salty. Another person who had the same meal was only able to eat half of hers. We had a birthday cake brought out (there was no cakeage fee, which was good/fair considering what we were paying for our dinner) but after a while we had to ask (three times) for plates, and then again for cake-eating cutlery. Other restaurants bring these out automatically and promptly. Very (almost unbearably) noisy. The group meals became a bit of a shambles, but I don't know if it was due to the way it was explained, the fact seating had to be rearranged, or if some in our group just couldn't understand how it worked. Maybe due to the noise, some people just couldn't hear the waiter trying...
Read moreWhat a lovely find this restaurant was. A brief mini-break to Adelaide and we just felt like some Italian food. This came up 2nd on my Google search and we were so pleased we picked it.
The service was really efficient and friendly from the time we walked in to this warm and inviting restaurant and we were quickly seated and our order taken.
We have had the great good fortune to have spent some time in Italy over the years and it was wonderful to have food that really tasted of what we had come to expect. My husband's Saltimbocca with tender veal and feather light prosciutto, a delicious buttery, winey sauce and the most moreish potatoes (and side salad) was excellent. My home-made Agnolotti was lavishly filled with pumpkin, ricotta and lovely crunchy pine-nuts, in a cheesy, creamy butter sauce that just hit the spot. We found both dishes very authentic in flavour and presentation. Servings were very generous.
Coupling these dishes with a punchy craft beer and a flavoursome Italian Sangiovese and we were very happy indeed. Complimentary bread and olive oil (plus Parmesan and Chilli Oil on the table) was also a very welcome addition (I wish more restaurants would do this).
We will certainly dine here again next time we are in Adelaide and we wouldn't hesitate...
Read moreWaitresses forgot one of our drinks, then brought 2 drinks to another person who had clearly cancelled the first one to change what she wanted, both drinks were brought to the table though. Seems minor but listening carefully to orders should be important. the antipasto platters were nice but nothing amazing. Tuna carpaccio entre was nice but the tuna mayo on top was beyond excessive, we left 80% of it on the plate as it was just not needed. Finally, I ordered the pork and black olive pasta (had an olive craving) and there was not one olive in the whole dish! not even a hint of olive flavour. The slow cooked pork was well cooked, but the whole dish lacked flavour and sauce, it was almost dry. Another person ordered the tortellini, but the dish came out as tagliatelle. When the waitress was questioned on this, she tried to say that the menu actually said 'tagliatelle' not 'tortellini' (the font on the menu is quite swirly and not easy to make out) so for a second we though we had misread the pasta type. However a quick check around the table and we could all agree that is definitely said tortellini, and they had stuffed the dish up. Wont...
