Made a booking a few months ago for 12 of us (6 couples) to attend on Sat night 17/12/16 for our annual pre-Xmas get together. At time of booking was asked to pay $10/person to confirm and if we were interested in doing the banquet, which we were. They rang me a couple of days prior to confirm our booking as well as if we still wanting to do the banquet. Unfortunately, on the day 3 (people) of our group didn't end up coming due to not being well, so as soon as we arrived we advised the waiter that only 9 of us would be attending.............waiter responded saying "sorry to hear that, but you will still have to pay for the 12 that originally booked", which we thought was pretty rough considering at no time had they advised me about my contractual agreement. He went on to say that you need to advise them at least 24-48 hours’ prior with any changes, which we said is pretty hard because the last time we checked 'gastro bug' doesn't give you that sort of warning!! Restaurant went on to say the reason we were getting charged was because they pre-purchased our food, which we thought was reasonable if we ordered something NON-standard, but our banquet included just standard food that's on their normal day to day menu......so what did they pre-purchase just for us, being its Xmas time, and they'd be able to use the next day. Even with the waiter going back and forth to the Manager on the night, explaining to them what's happened, didn't seem to help...to be honest we actually never saw the Manger that night, must of been way too busy to come and face the music themselves. We could have just walked out and lost our deposit, and they would have been left with one big empty table, but where could we have gone at such late notice so we stuck it out. On the whole food was ok, but in my opinion it’s also about the experience which was NON EXISISTENT being their Management has no understanding of the concept of...
Read moreVery Disappointed as my friend during the week booked for Friday the 30th July. She was asked over the phone if we would like to come in at 6.30, 7 or 7.30. She booked at 6.30 as we all work until 6pm. (SHE WAS NOT TOLD OVER THE PHONE ITS A 90MINS SEATING) Couple of us was running a bit late as it so hard to get a park in Pirie st. So about 7 we ordered entree which didnt take long to arrive. Just after our entree we ordered a garlic bread. Just before 7.30 the waitress come along and said that we need to order asap because they need the table for 8pm. We all looked at her and my friend did say no one told her over the phone about the 90 min seating. She said if you want to order now you can stay until 8.15, I turn around and said well it taken over 20 mins for a garlic bread how long would our mains take. So at this time we were all looking for a another restaurant on our phone. Then we received our garlic bread and it was BURNED on top. At this stage we were so hungry that we ate it. There was a table next to us ( about 12 people) who were there for an 18th birthday dinner and we asked them if there were told about the 90 mins she said no one mention on the phone, so we told them we were asked to leave Our bill was $80. not bad for half on hour there. WHY WOULDNT YOU TELL YOUR QUEST THE MINUTE THEY ORDERED THEY DRINKS AND ENTREE THAT THEY NEED TO ORDER THERE MAINS.
We end up at La Trattoria Resturant, with the BEST ...
Read moreAs someone born and raised in Italy, I’ve always been skeptical when it comes to pizza outside of my country. Too many times I’ve been disappointed by versions that have little to do with the real thing. But Pizza e Mozzarella in Adelaide completely changed my perspective.
This is, without a doubt, the best pizza I’ve ever eaten outside of Italy—ever. From the first bite, I felt like I was back home. The dough is light, perfectly fermented, and cooked to perfection with that beautiful char from a real wood-fired oven. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and you can tell they’ve been chosen with care and respect for tradition. The mozzarella melts just right, the tomato sauce tastes like something made by a nonna, and the balance of flavors is exactly how it should be—simple, genuine, and unforgettable.
It’s not just pizza, it’s a little piece of Italy in the heart of Adelaide. I honestly didn’t expect to find something so authentic so far from home. Complimenti davvero a chi lavora con tanta passione. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be recommending it to every Italian (and...
