We made a reservation to come all a Sunday night. About the food: 1. We ordered kimchi pancake and it is already sold out at 6:45. 2. Dakgalbi is overpriced, the cheese one causes $50 with just a flat pan plate of chicken thigh, pumpkin, rice cake, and cabbage. Its flavour is not strong. 3. Hand pulled noodle was pretty good, which is the best of night. There is something that upsetting us much: 4. They never mentioned about Sunday surcharge before the meal, we only knew it after paying and checking up. There’s NO notice on the door, neither in the menu. There’s only a very tiny paper sticked on the cashier, so you will only know after your meal and ready to pay. You don’t have the chance to say no and turn away before the meal because you will not be told about Sunday Surcharge. So if people want to avoid Sunday Recharge this place is not your place. 5. Another thing that makes us disappointed was, when we asked for fresh chilli, they only gave us three tiny pieces and the second time we asked for it they gave us one. This was one dice of a chilli. I don’t think a chilli cost so much especially when people are spending hundreds in your place.

Watching Korean dramas always made me crave the delightful food they showcased, and I finally discovered a heartfelt gem called Chulpan! I have to share how truly amazing their food is, especially their signature dishes. Each bite is a celebration of flavor, providing a warm embrace with just the right balance of spices. As an avid lover of Asian cuisine, I sincerely appreciate the bold and vibrant flavors that fill each dish. It was such a joyous experience; I felt like I was on a culinary adventure with every taste! I also want to acknowledge the wonderful atmosphere and exceptional service at Chulpan. The staff, especially the chef, are incredibly humble and genuinely friendly, making you feel welcomed and valued. I can't thank them enough for providing such a memorable experience. It’s places like this that truly touch your heart! I called them to inquire about halal chicken, and they informed me that their supplier is halal.

Chulpan Restaurant offers a mixed dining experience. The pork BBQ stands out with its tenderness and juiciness, making it a must-try for pork lovers. However, the beef bulgogi falls short, being too dry and lacking the desired sweetness. It could benefit from a bit more seasoning to enhance its flavor. Additionally, it’s disappointing that kimchi, a staple in Korean cuisine, isn’t complimentary and comes with an extra charge. The quality of the utensils also leaves room for improvement, as the bowls are plastic instead of the more traditional metal. Despite these drawbacks, Chulpan provides a decent meal, but there's room for refinement in both flavor and service.

Quaint but cute interior, tasty food though it's on the slightly pricier side it's justifiable on an occasion, the star menu item (the large share pans) are tasty.

My issue is the service, we arrived half an hour early by mistake, and were told our table was still occupied, which is fine. We came back on time for our actual booking and our table was still occupied by other patrons. So the staff were literally reminded of the need to clear our table out of a previous booking half an hour in advance and still didn't do it. We were made to sit at a dirty table while they asked the other patrons to leave/cleared our table. And it took quite some time. And we didn't get more than a blunt, curt "oh, sorry." We understand that mistakes happen, but at least apologise properly and take accountability. Very disappointed.

Happy to readdress the rating given a response Edit: this was replied to then the reply...
