This parkland is beautiful. Huge trees giving plenty of shade and extensive grassed areas to sit for a picnic or just watch the world go by. As dusk approached the sky above us filled with hundreds if not thousands of bats looking for their resting place for the night. It was nothing short of spectacular. Absolutely stunning. Will return again and visit just to see this sight. There is parking available close by for a fee, and wheelchair parking also. This park is close to Adelaide city and would be suitable for photo shoots, weddings, barbecues, picnics etc. Do yourself a favour and wait till dusk to see the bats.

A lot of the reviews/pics seem to confuse this site with the Botanic Gardens, but the Botanic Park is actually a separate area just north of the Botanic Gardens (and south of the Zoo). It’s more of a park setting with large areas of turf and a canopy of various trees. It’s a great place to picnic or relax and is free to enter (and appears to be open 24 hours/day). One of the main things we enjoyed were the thousands of gray-headed flying foxes (aka bats) hanging around in the trees. Such a cool sight! Nice place to visit if you’re in the area, though if you have limited time, head straight to the Botanic Gardens.

Botanical Park is beautiful you can spend hours there looking at all the different varieties of plants and go to different greenhouses that have different climates of plant life. There are even turtles in the big pond leading to the winery area and herb gardens. So stop to say hello they are very friendly. They also have restaurants and cafe services. It’s a great place to go with family and friends and to host events like birthday picnics in the park. Plenty of parking and it’s free to get in. The cafe shuts around 4/5 I’m not sure when the gates close at night. Very beautiful and great for photos!!! 💖🙏🕊💕✨

Botanic Park is a great locale for a casual stroll, family get-together, gourmet food events, Womadelaide and live music. Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour showcased the flexibility and sheer size of this leafy Adelaide venue. Conveniently close to the CBD, the Zoo and Botanic locations, this park is easy to access by public transport, PVs and even by the Popeye boat. There are public toilets nearby but they are not easily accessible if you have a mobility issue. The grassed areas can be uneven but there are plenty of paths to move around on. It is a very pleasant place to visit in all seasons.

The Adelaide parklands are a national treasure. Adelaide is the only city in the world designed totally surrounded by parklands, with many facilities for families to enjoy, such as playgrounds, bike tracks and tennis courts. Botanic Park is one of the nicest parks and a perfect spot to relax. Its beautiful whether its fall or spring. Long routes for long walk or green fields for picnic. Gorgeous scenery for photo shoots during different seasons too. Make sure you take food and snacks as you might not find anything other than coffee van there.

Womadelaide 2023: Florence and the Machine was amazing, vocally effortless, I couldn't keep my eyes off her and she was a real crowd pleaser. This was followed by an insane french aero performance called the square of angels (english) where the performers were zip-lining 30 metres in the air. Mind blowing! Food vendors plentiful, stages reasonably well set up but not wheel chair accessible. Well done though to all that put in the time and effort setting it all up. The sweet potato food van made it all happen for us.
