A very hip experience. The kind that you hear about from hipster cafe's in melbourne.
In saying that. Nothing about the experience seemed to be a farce or a show. The staff were happy to serve and happy to talk. They knew their coffee and knew their customers. Everyone there was happy to have a chat and to make recomendations, and all of their patron's were pleased with the attention given.
The vibe from the Decor was Exposed Industrial, but this was perfectly acceptable as they also had their Bean Roasting equipment on display, and were talking to the customers about their work as they did it.
And the Coffee - the important part of a coffee shop review. Smiles all round. Good coffee to enjoy. Flat white was ordered and was a lovely medium roast, very chocolatey flavours, standing out as well as hints of a malt and hazelnut combo.
The Hot chocolate was lovely, not too sweet and not too bitter. A thinner mixture than I am used to but was still lovely.
The chai, which the barista was happy to advise us "was made in shop and was a standard mix of honey and chai leaves" - and was still better than most loose leaf tea chai's i have tried from companies that specialise in it.
Top Work, Crew. The...
Read moreIt was very early in the morning when I stepped into Elementary Coffee in Adelaide. I have to say that I could immediately feel the positive vibes in the café from both, the staff as well as the customers, a HAPPY PLACE!
When I looked at the barista, he gave me a big smile. I asked him whether he has a tasty coffee. OF COURSE, he answered! What coffee would you like to have? A super sweet and tasty filter coffee, please! He continuously smiled and said: Kenya! The day could not have started any better. MAKE IT EXTRA SWEET JUICY AND LINGERING.
He must have thought that I am a total nerd! When I got my cup of coffee and my toasty, he kept smiling at me: YOUR COFFEE! Can you believe it. The Kenyan filter coffee was extra sweet, extra juicy and extra lingering.
Coffee is not only about the taste only; it is more about the entire coffee experience: tasty coffee in a happy environment. I also enjoyed the simple interior design, the roastry in the back of the café and I also enjoyed reading the coffee, design, and fashion magazines. While I enjoyed my toasty and slurped my coffee, I saw many more happy people coming and going. A perfect...
Read moreIt was the 21st of June and I was scouring the city for a fabulous mocha to begin my day of study. Low and behold I discovered on Google this quaint little place called Elementary Coffee. The reviews seemed to assure the place was good quality, however I needed to see for myself. So after walking through the alleyway's of Adelaide, I spotted the sign of my destination. Walking in, it was a little busy, but that meant it was popular. After ordering my coffee from the nice staff, I waited for around one minute before my name was called and my coffee presented. After stepping out of the cafe I took a few steps, took a sip, and fell into a world of wonder. The coffee was unlike any I had ever tasted, creamy beyond belief and beans roasted to perfection. The mocha warranted an even caramel quality to it. It was unfortunate I didn't order a large because it was amazing, however, I will be back for more. It is as Sherlock Holmes says, "Elementary, my...
