An Edited review. Today, my wife and young son attended your establishment. We checked on Google for your operating hours. We arrived to find the bistro closed. But the gaming room is open. I looked for signals and failed to see signals as to when the bistro opened. So I walked in with my son to the gaming room to locate a staff member to make an enquiry on the bistro. No other entrances were available to me. That I am aware of. No staff were within the gaming room. I went to the counter bar area only looked into the office as the door attempting to locate a staff member. Upon exiting a woman who I later recognised as the assistant manager by her name tag told me I can't be in there with a baby and threatened me with a "huge amount of paperwork" to make a report to CPS(Child Protective Services). She did not ask my purpose nor if she could assist me with an enquiry and direct me to leave as she helped with my enquiry. Rather first came the demand to leave and the threat. i was there for an early lunch and only entered to make an enquiry and leave. This was far from professional nor hospitable.I'vee been to thisbusinesss once previously and had had a positive experience within the bistro for an evening meal. Not a daytime meal. I dont gamble. A presumption of guilt rather than seeing a very clear attempt by me to locate a staff member and the fact I had a child with me in my arms, would have indicated I wasn't there to use the gambling facilities. This was explained to the assistant manage, yet she continued her behaviour even after I had expressed a genuine enquiry outside of the gaming room.

Regardless of how well the bistro performs, we won't be returning. A simple early lunch became a hostile situation.

Simple fact is no signage was observed. Google had opening hours that indicated the business was open. There is no call for your "Assistant manager" to engage any member of the public with such distain. Threatening me with CPS paperwork was entirely uncalled for.

I went into this establishment to stay warm out of the rain today while waiting for cashconverters to open up. I had forty minutes left and was getting real bored so I asked the lady behind the bar if I could possibly walk around in a circle where I standing and she took that with attitude and disrespect and assumed I wanted to walk around the ENTIRE room which would make people uncomfortable which is understandable. But when I tried to explain that no I wanted to just walk in a circle where I am she kept cutting me off and stating I was yelling at her when I was speaking in a calm and normal inside voice/manner. No matter what i would try to say she would turn around and state she is done with whatever I have to say and im bothering her. Majority of the people who work here are exact same, they all judge you and say you did this and that and you can't argue with them about it and because they know this they will play on it. So as I left and asked nicely for my wallet that I asked to be put behind the bar so I would make sure money is there to take my pc out and not accidentally use it. So I told her nicely for next time drop the attitude. I will not be treated like crap or disrespected because the said staff member can not handle being disagreed with or having a patron talk back to them. So be careful new patrons and old patrons. Addit: just had the best steak here tonight, topped with a creamy prawn sauce! Yum, so glad we came tonight, I was feeling a yim steak,cooked medium rare- melt in your mouth! Well done to the chef tonight (6/6/25) The only down side was the dessert, 2 on offer, we each tried a different one- the brownie looked like they baked it in the wrong size pan, it was way too thin; the butterscotch pudding was a dry vanilla cake with some weird blancmange like thing on top with butterscotch sauce over it, I don't think pastry is their forte. Had lunch here today. I ordered the 250g rump rare, my son ordered the BBQ beef and bacon burger. So initially the burger that came out had things to suggest it was the incorrect burger- the hostess quickly arranged a new and correct burger. My steak came closer to medium than rare, the hostess had the manager come talk to me about it. She gave me options, I chose to eat the meal delivered as my son had his new meal. Both meals were enjoyable and my son said the burger was a good burger. Chips were good. Loved the slaw that came with my steak. The manager came at the end of the meal and refunded my meal cost.
