I recently visited this newly opened Lebanese restaurant in Adelaide for breakfast, and I was seriously impressed! The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavors. I tried the hummus with minced meat, and it was creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, paired with a smooth tahini sauce and pickles. The freshly baked pita bread was light and fluffy, just the way it should be. And the manakish with za’atar and cheese? Simply amazing! What makes this place even more special is that it’s a lovely family-run business. The mother and daughter who run it are incredibly warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Their hospitality adds to the whole experience, making it more than just a meal—it's a taste of true Lebanese culture. The restaurant has a cosy, inviting atmosphere, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for a true taste of Lebanon with heartfelt hospitality, this is the place to go!

A hidden gem in Adelaide’s vibrant food scene! Ishtaar is a delightful new addition serving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine inspired by the Levant region. Run by the warm and welcoming mother-daughter duo, Imaan and Noor, the experience is as heartfelt as it is delicious. We tried the chicken shawarma, kibbeh, and Dawood Basha — all beautifully cooked with generous portion sizes and full of rich, traditional flavours. Service was quick and friendly, and while the space is compact and cozy, they definitely punch above their weight. Whether you’re after halal options or just amazing food, Ishtaar is absolutely worth a visit!

Absolutely delicious, we have eaten there a few times since they opened at Prospect after having them cater for my 50th, and the food has been consistently great. Today we had the breakfast tray (we swapped out the eggs for foul) which also included Arabic tea, this transported my Lebanese husband back to the Middle East. There is nothing else like this in Adelaide, and was extremely good value. Even the jam was made in house.

We’ve been to Ishtar Middle Eastern Restaurant several times now and loved it, as well as having caught up with their stands at some local markets. It is the real deal Middle Eastern cuisine, full of flavours and spices unfamiliar to me - a real taste adventure presented with artistic flair. My husband tucks into everything with gusto, I’m coeliac so have to choose what I eat, but the fresh salads, grilled chicken dishes, soups, hummus, capsicum and garlic dishes I have explored so far I can eat safely. I have to say that even though I am gluten intolerant I cannot resist the tabouli, nor the different baclava varieties - one filled with pistachios, one filled with cream and one saturated in delicious honey. And their cookies are the...
