You will face the worst experience if you have brown skin. Believe me! I first went to this place with a friend who had white skin. And they went out of their way to serve us. Each time we went as a family, which included my 10 year old son, we felt like the staff ignored us. I never confronted them about that until me and my husband went by ourselves, and when we called out to 2 Waiters 3 times, they ignored us even when they were within eye and ear shot. Then we could see that each table had chilli oil, and when we asked for one for our table, one waiter brought it to us while in a fee minutes, the male waiter came and took it away, saying he will bringing back then brought a tiny, a container the size of an olive with a tea spoon of chilli oil in it. They served all the white and Chinese looking people first and served our food, which was fried rice and Beef in cashew nut sauce with vegetables last. I have never been soo angry at anyone to that level before but the way the two waiters behaved and how they took away the chilli oil was appauling. We got up and told them that we are very upset abiut the way we were treated, and they tried to apologise, but we decided to walk out as we haven't even put a single spoonful in our mouths at that stage. At a Asian restaurant, to be treated like that in a multi cultural country is beyond shameful. I was the one who recommended this place to my family after going with my white friend a few times and I have to say what a mistake it was. I have never seen racism to this level. So my advice to anyone with brown or black skin, avoid this place like the plague, cos they don't want you here. They will act as if we are inconveniencing them. Go elsewhere. We ended up going to Siam 49, who treated us as equals and with respect. I have 0 tolerance to discrimination. I will be taking further steps with the relevant government departments to ensure that this will not happen to others like us. We were ashamed when we came with our son. We didn't want to bring this up in front of him, and thought that maybe we are over thinking it. But we were wrong. I hope you shut your doors. No matter how good your food is, if you have no respect towards your customers, especially if they have different skin colour, then please don't open to the public. Just put a sign saying that you serve certain cultures. Then we wouldn't have inconvenienced you with...
Read more08/02/2024 Ordered spring rolls and steamed dimsims for entrees, they were great. Mains ordered was honey chicken, black bean sauce (beef & veg), pad Thai and a large serve of special chicken fried rice. The horror begins; First a soup comes out that wasn't on our order, even provided us a print out of the docket which didn't have a soup 😅 They took the soup, then proceeded to serve the black bean sauce dish that was completely bland. Had no flavour whatsoever. Also had barely any beef in it. They served plain rice with the dish. We didn't order plain. We ordered special chicken fried rice. They brang our honey chicken, which was literally just tasteless battered fried chicken and a boring side dish of... not even honey sauce... was very average, only ate it because we were hungry and had enough 🤦♂️ Fried rice was okay... apart from having boiled bland chicken in it... oh, and it came out once we had already eaten the dishes that the rice was meant to have been enjoyed with it otherwise they would have gone cold 🥶 Pad Thai was okay! Our food was clearly to share but I understand majority of people lack common sense so I mentioned it was to share yet still had no bowls offered to us and due to asking them being far too difficult, we got up and grabbed our own 😅 $120 for 2 people to eat and 2 drinks (which we also had to remind them that we had ordered 😁) and with food of that quality and extremely poor service, can't say we will be back nor with our families. I'm a very understanding person and mistakes happen, but this just felt like a good laugh! We thought it was a joke, having been here multiple times and has always been a 7 or 8/10, it's unfortunately taken a dramatic...
Read moreWe have been to this restaurant for quite many years now and seen it's gone down hill with the quality of the food. We went there on Saturday and ordered dried chicken, pork and prawn noodles as usual. We did notice the terrible unpleasant taste of bad pork and prawn. I can't believe they served old spoiled meat and seafood to the customers. But my son ordered Pho needle soup and the beef was fresh which he enjoyed it. My friend told me that she and her friend had serious food poisoning last time they were here from the same dried noodle dish. She called the restaurant to let them know but the owner seemed not interested in and took no action. So just beware of ordering unpopular dishes there, they may use old leftover ingredients and meat. For the service point of view, to be honest I've hardly experienced good services there. we saw new young waitresses every time we went there. Hence, we often got the food we didn't order or wrong size dishes, perhaps from the inexperience of the staff. I remember once a few years ago, I argued with a waiter there because of his bad attitude and temper from trying to put us in the table we didn't want to sit. I guess I kept going back there because of the good texture of noodle in the dried noodle dish which I couldn't get from any other Vietnamese restaurants in Adelaide. But I think I won't go back there again if the food quality is...
