KHOU BAR — Restaurant in Adelaide

I recently hosted an event at this venue and was left extremely disappointed with the experience, particularly in the aftermath. Upon raising valid concerns with the owners, I received a phone call from the owner himself that I can only describe as highly unprofessional and inappropriate. He spoke to me in an aggressive and confrontational manner, repeatedly raised his voice, interrupted me continuously, and displayed a complete lack of courtesy and respect so much so that I felt compelled to ask him directly not to speak to me in that manner.

What could have been a reasonable and constructive discussion instead escalated unnecessarily due to the owner's hostile approach and his refusal to communicate respectfully. He contradicted information he had previously provided and dismissed written documentation I referenced as irrelevant, which further undermined any confidence I had in the conversation.

This interaction demonstrated not only a significant lack of professionalism and customer service, but also a concerning absence of basic human decency. Given the considerable amount of money paid for the event, I expected a far more respectful and competent standard of communication. I will admit that this looks like like a nice establishment however that’s far from the reality.

Arrived at 7:30pm for reservation with friends, stood at the front waiting to be seated for over 5 minutes but was ignored the whole time.

In that 5 minutes I had an opportunity to take in the scenery which included; music that was much too loud, a tile floor echoing the music on top of everyone’s Saturday night voices, the crammed seating and everyone still needing to go up to the bar to pay for drinks one by one.

Not only was this enough for me to hesitate but the remainder of my group all agreed that we would go elsewhere for the night where we would get value...
