A Night of Magic at Chihuly Nights – Truly Unforgettable!
I visited Chihuly Nights at the Adelaide Botanic Garden last night, and I’m still in awe of the experience. From the moment I stepped into the gardens, it felt like I had entered a different world—one where art and nature blend seamlessly into something truly magical.
The illuminated glass sculptures were breathtaking, with each piece seeming to take on a life of its own under the night sky. The Sun was a definite highlight for me—its fiery tendrils glowing brilliantly in the dark made it impossible to look away. The Glacier Ice and Lapis Chandelier inside the Palm House was another standout, with its cool blues and intricate details contrasting beautifully with the historic architecture.
The entire atmosphere was simply enchanting. Soft music played in the background, creating a calm, almost dreamlike setting as I wandered along the winding paths. The reflections of the sculptures in the water features added an extra layer of beauty, making every turn feel like a new discovery.
What I loved most was how well everything was curated—there was a perfect balance between the art and the natural surroundings. The event was well-organized, with friendly staff and plenty of spaces to pause and take it all in. I also enjoyed grabbing a drink at the Schomburgk Pavilion and just soaking in the ambiance.
If you’re in Adelaide, I can’t recommend this enough. Whether you’re an art lover, a nature enthusiast, or just looking for a unique night out, Chihuly Nights is an experience you won’t forget. I’m already considering going back for...
Read moreBefore visiting this Adelaide Botanic Garden for the 1st time, I didn't have much expectation as I arrived South Australia in January 2025 and experienced the longest drought seasons in history. Everywhere were dry, grey / brown but not green, especially northern parts of the Adelaide City.
After five months of raining since late May 2025 and in this Spring time, I reckoned it is now the best timing to visit Adelaide Botanic Garden to see the flowers and greenery.
It looked like my understanding was correct, as the Adelaide Botanic Garden was really beautiful, much better than what I expected. Everywhere were green and with beautiful flowers. Thanks to the effort of the team especially the gardeners, the garden is well maintained with healthy plants and trees, and beautiful flowers and lawns. They have kept all facilities well like the ponds, wetland, fountains, glasshouses, walkways, fences, toilets, directional signs and function rooms etc. Everything in the garden were tidy, clean and functioning well.
During my visit, there were several weddings events held inside the garden, on the lawns and inside the event centres. No doubt to me here is one of the best wedding venues in Adelaide.
I don't think I have walked-through every corners of the garden yet as it is so big. I will definitely re-visit quite again as it is really a nice and lovely park which is so easy to access. For example, it's good to visit it for a walk in a weekend afternoon and then cross the street to visit one of the lovely restaurants in the East End for an...
Read moreOh, Adelaide Botanic Garden! What a resplendent, verdant sanctuary it turned out to be! I recently had the pleasure of wandering its winding paths, and I'm still quite captivated. The sheer loveliness of the place is almost indescribable. Every corner turned revealed a new, breathtaking vista. I was particularly fortunate to catch the Chihuly exhibition, with his fantastical glass creations nestled amongst the flora. It was a truly magical experience to see such vibrant, otherworldly forms juxtaposed against the natural beauty of the gardens. There was a separate section showcasing more of his work, which required a small fee, but honestly, even if you only explore the freely accessible areas, you won't be disappointed. I mean, gorgeous doesn't even begin to cover it! The gardens are an absolute feast for the senses. The air itself seemed to hum with life, a symphony of birdsong and the gentle rustling of leaves. I was utterly enchanted by the diverse collection of plants – from the delicate blooms of the rose garden to the towering majesty of the ancient trees. It's a place where you can truly lose yourself, wandering through the different biomes and discovering hidden pockets of tranquility. Whether you're a botany enthusiast, an art lover (like me!), or simply seeking a peaceful escape from the city bustle, the Adelaide Botanic Garden is an absolute must-see. Seriously, put it on your list! You won't regret a single, glorious moment.
I left feeling utterly refreshed and inspired. It's a place I know I'll return to...
