After years of hearing how great and authentic this place was and seeing the positive reviews, we decided to finally try it out but was left disappointed. From the second we walked through the door, the people that served us did not smile once. We ordered 5 x dishes and when they came out, almost thought they had mistaken our orders for entree sizes. The serving sizes were probably the smallest we've come across. So yes their prices appear quite 'cheap' for restaurant food but its a rip off when you consider how much food you actually get. We ordered 5 x dishes and could have ordered another 5 and still would have left hungry. So we decided we'd save our $$ and go grab something else on the way home. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the food was tasty, not westernised and quite authentic...just not enough of it! Disappointed before we even got our food. Booked a table for 2 before a show at Capri Cinema. Waited 15 mins for our order to be taken by a girl who didn't look old enough to be working there. Clumsy and couldn't manage a smile. We mentioned our show at 8pm and were told not to order curries as not enough time! I am very fussy with my food so there are limited dishes I like. I have been wanting to write a review for Manee Siam for a few months now. We visited in late May and we are still talking about the Green Chicken Curry, Basil Fried Rice, Thai Red Curry and Pandan Chicken. All abundant serves, fresh, aromatic and delicious! Basil Fried rice was a stand out with plump prawns, tender chicken pieces and fresh herbs. We enjoyed the ambiance and decor. We felt like we were in Thailand. We would like to return in warmer seasons so we can sit outside in the courtyard so the kids can enjoy the fishpond. Beautiful, friendly service and a very reasonably priced evening.
