Such a horrible experience. No signs of ‘no outside drinks’, but be told we must finish our half bottle milk tea front of door. Okay , we did. And then, 4 adults with 1 baby , be told must order five. We can order five, but your service/food not deserved. Have been there for several times, never had such a bad experience, won’t come back. Will let all friends know ! customers always happy to pay for the dessert , but cannot pay for bad service

Reply, Think you can check the camera on what you did, instead bully customers here. When your staff said’ no drinks in ‘. Even we just have little, we still finished outside. But when we tried to placed order, be told even a baby, we still need to order 5. We tried to told the staff, she is just a little kid, who had dinner just, cannot had another dessert, your staff just said, no minimum 1 per person, even the kid or baby! And she left, another lady came, be told even 1 kid, need to order one. We just said, ok , we will leave. nobody did bad attitude or even say one bad word to you. That’s your staff, don’t know how to communicate with customers, no sides with customers. Same thing happened at Eggless. They have the policy 1 per person. But when we told them, we just had dinner, kid don not want one. They said , no worries, four is enough. We ordered 4 yummy desserts and enjoyed our amazing time there. That’s the difference!! And I already said this is not first time we be your store, never be treated like yesterday!! You should improve your service, not always think that customers are bad attitude to you . Everyone are happy with dessert, nobody with bad mood.

Or I just reminded, past times, I always came with my workmates, who are all local faces, we all be treated well. This time with all my Asian friends, be treated badly. That...

Not the first time come here but after today me and family will never back here and WARNING EVERY ONE NOT COME HERE TO WASTE YOUR MONEY. All meal overpriced (alright for me but not for all) Policy 1pp/ 1meal. I come with my son 3y and my husband, we ordered 2 meal and staff ask how old’s my son, i said he 3y do you want I show my son birth certificate and then she ok. After 2-3min she was back and told “i checked with owner and she said kid under 2 year only can order for kid meal. This is a biggest lie and tricky for customer. I came here about 5 years ago when they opened in North Adelaide really enjoyed and now in China Town store with terrible experience I know they policy but they need flexible for customers have kid. How we can get kid eat full cup of ice cream in winter night with a lot sugar.

I was read some owner comments they’ve said food make by high quality products from Tea farm Japan but all meal not always high quality some time bitter ice cream or too sweet or waffle and lava cake too dry because over bake. If the owner have kid under 5 or 6 year old, would you let them eat full serve dessert high sugar with ice cream in the winter night. If you can't do that, you should think about the rules that force other parents to buy food from you like the rules you put in place. Not only your shop have policy like that but they will be thinks for customer first and give best choice easy and flexible if customer come with kid. Not surprisingly, why you lose a lot customers. I wish can give you 0 star if...

Got the matcha lava cake ($16) and the matcha watermelon cake ($15) (just for context)

REALLY wanted to like this place cause I love matcha and I wanna support all matcha establishments 😭 unfortunately, for the price, the desserts need to be way more refined.

The reason lava cakes have flowy centres is that they’re not baked all the way through - so when it’s not done well it will taste like raw batter in the middle. Sadly, the flowy centre in this matcha lava cake tasted like raw flour and eggs. They could have mitigated this by making the matcha flavour stronger.

The watermelon cake was (not original but) interesting. However, the cream in the middle could have been airier and beaten to a firmer peak, and the cake could have done with a lot less of it. That amount of cream is only acceptable when it’s a Super high quality cream, which this one isn’t. Just functionally, it’s difficult to cut through the cake without it all falling apart. The matcha flavour of the cake layers were also faint, which is bad considering that it’s the only matcha element of the cake (they could have have put matcha into the cream, or made the matcha layers thicker but fluffier and reduced the cream layers)

I know this review is mostly how I would have liked it better. TL;DR the matcha flavour of the desserts were weak and the desserts weren’t executed well in general.

Ok for trying once but the wait time and the prices are not justified :( there is...

It's a dessert place that my friend highly recommended so we came here for dinner after a brunch earlier in the day. We were one of the first ones to arrive right after it's opening time so we got to choose where we wanted to sit. We went for the tatami area close to the window. Waitress was nice all the way from when she greeted us at the door to when we paid for our meal. We went for the matcha lava cake with black sesame ice cream and the houjicha affogato. The former was absolutely delightful, the texture of the exterior of the cake was soft and fluffy and as soon as we cut through the matcha filling came oozing out with a rich flavour which we both really enjoyed. It also went very well with the ice cream but we suspected that they gave us some kind of berry ice cream instead as it did not taste like black sesame in any kind of way. The houjicha affogato on the other hand, was so bad. I do not recommend this item in the menu, please don't order. The houjicha tea was so poor and lacked in the actual tea flavour and it came lukewarm so we were quite disappointed. Ice cream was alright, nothing outstanding. We weren't quite sure what we were eating there as it was so underwhelming, it's this dessert that dragged the food rating down from a 4 to a 3.
