Read moreI frequently have the opportunity to study new scratches on my dashboard and dust my instrument panel while the drive through line moves slower than equal rights political bills. The obnoxious and almost predatory attitude exhibited by many of the drivers in the numerous hulking 4WDs beside me, resonates well with the nonchalance shown by the several chatting workers crammed together by the service window. Complimenting the congestion and deliberately poor layout to make frustrated drivers rush their orders at a menu they have an entire nine seconds to read, is the exorbitant cost of the soggy cardboard which is cleverly designed to look like food. I never thought I would live to see the day when KFC offered better value in terms of quantity per dollar than McDonald's. I only buy from here when I'm buying for other people, because I would genuinely rather eat nothing, and indeed I have done so many times. The McDonald's brand represents extremely poor value, extremely poor quality, and ostentatious marketing at a calibre of deceptive presentation which is only tolerated because they're McDonald's, and it's expected of them to peddle this picturesque but nutritionally reprehensible junk. The fries are clammy, the burgers are tiny, the drinks are under-flavoured, the ice-creams are rushed, the wraps fall apart when held, and all of it costs as much as going out to a proper restaurant plus parking. Many years ago I was a regular customer, but without fail, every McDonald's I've visited in the last several years has fallen to the same lamentable standard of image over quality and value. This McDonald's operates at the required McDonald's standard, and that is most certainly not a compliment. Nothing personal, nothing personal at all. A very...
Read moreSo wanted a quick eat in brekky. Ordered ad paid at kiosk, opted for table delivery. Simple order- bacon and egg McMuffin, extra hashbrown and med orange juice as a meal option. A take away bag was brought to my table and as I was expecting a drink as well, said it probably wasn't mine. Then realised it had a number on it that correlated to my table number and spoke to a staff member and explained why I sent it away and that it is probably mine but there was no drink delivered. I was told the drink comes later- no,a meal option should always be delivered as the meal, if you can't get the timing right, then you ensure food is kept warm until drink is ready or don't make drink until food is ready, whatever the delay, both should come out together. Anyhow, I accepted the food and the staff member said she would make prepare my drink for me. 5 minutes passed, then staff member comes back and says the machine is broken. I asked what other option could she offer, she shrugged her shoulders, so I asked to speak to her manager, she left and 3 minutes later delivered my orange juice. So the issues: eat in option should not be delivered in take away bags. McDonalds, start respecting your customers. If there is a delay in delivering a meal, go speak to the customer and explain the issue, ask what they would prefer to do, offer and alternative(in this case, a different beverage). Do not send your junior staff out as possible cannon fodder, the shift manager should be the one to deal...
