Ordered a pizza at 6:10pm on a Friday and was told it would br 1hr-1hr15... at 8pm I phoned and asked if my pizza was on it's way and was told it would be around 15 mins... at 8:30 I called back and was told it would be there "soon." At that point I asked for a refund and said not to worry about the pizza, they responded that the pizza had already left so I would need to send it back with the driver and they would refund me when it came back. The person didn't take any details from me on the payment and I'd read other reviews here so it felt likely that I wouldn't get my refund. The manager also chose to relay a conversation back and forth via the girl who answered the phone rather than speaking directly to me to resolve the issue.
When the pizza eventually arrived (more than 2.5 hours after it was ordered) I was hungry and decided just to accept it, I advised the driver that I wasn't impressed by the service and to let his boss know the same. The driver rudely responded "oh well we are busy, you do what you feel you need to do."
In fairness to Pizza Works, the pizza arrived hot and had plenty of topping but it was nothing in particular to write home about and was pretty disappointing given the price and the wait time.
Bottom line, their customer service is atrocious and there are plenty of places nearby where the pizza is as good or better. I wouldn't waste my...
Read moreOrder a pizza tonight (Sunday). Ordered at 5:40, no indication of delivery time on their app. Called them at 6:30 asking where the order was, and was gifted with no apology, no explanation, no attempt at recovering the situation, just a ‘yes it will be there in the next 15 minutes’. This place is competing against several other pizza venues in Gawler and they do not even have the decency to offer proper customer service. When a customer calls up to enquire about an order, of 1 pizza, to be delivered a few blocks away, the first response should be ‘we apologies for the delay’ not telling the customer ‘that is our average delivery time’. That is a terrible excuse and one that you should not be proud of. If a customer has gone to the lengths of calling you, you should be exhibiting empathy to keep the customer interested in continuing to use your services. I can tell you now that I will never be spending $30 on a pizza and waiting over an hour for it ever again. This place has a terrible work ethic and the quality of their food does not back up their lack of customer service. Choose any other pizzeria in Gawler over this one. A McCains frozen pizza is...
Read moreThought I would support local business as I'm a business owner as well and have lived in the Gawler around around 30 years. This is how my night went. Ordered over the phone at 7.30 told it would take 45-60 minutes. By 8.45 I decided to ring and was put on hold which I believe I was forgotten because after 5 minutes I was yelling hello through the phone as I could hear back ground noises. I hung up and rang back straight away to which I explained to the girl what she did and she proceeded to ask well do I want to order then. I explained my case and wanted to speak to someone in charge but was told they were too busy and my order was in the oven and will be another 15 minutes. They also said they would reduce my bill by $6 for the trouble. Obviously they missed the point that I wasn't ringing to get money off I was ringing to find out why it was taking so long. After not been given a chance to be heard I told them not to bother, yet they still sent the delivery out at 9.15. I can only imagine the poor owner will lose business by having...
