Searching for a dog friendly cafe away from the hustle and bustle of Jetty Road we decided on the Seafaring Fools and so glad we did. I had the crispy Korean chicken and the War Department had the Rueben. One bite and all I heard was oh my god this is delicious. Served with light and crispy fries it was a hit. My chicken was amazing. The sauce OMG the sauce is delicious. If not for passers by I would have licked the plate it was that good. Coffee was delicious. Cute cups and as I like a double shot in a small cup there is nowhere to hide if the coffee isn’t good. It was better than good and staved off my caffeine headache immediately. Mr D the spaniel enjoyed a few fries and we devoured our lunches and enjoyed the less hectic part of Glenelg. The service was efficient and super friendly. Thanks for making this a lunch to remember. We will be back that’s...

Anyone who knows me will be aware that I almost never post photos of food I'm eating to my Facebook page. Yesterday I made an exception to that rule.

Herewith the "Cinnamon French Toast", with apple & raisin compote, vanilla custard, peanut brittle & icecream that a friend & I enjoyed for lunch. This photo shows only half a serve, as the staff thoughtfully divvied the full serve on to 2 separate plates before giving it to us ... probably to save us coming to blows over who got to lick the plate 🤣🤣🤣.

And where did we get to enjoy this gastronomic delight? At a delightful café called "Seafaring Fools", on the Broadway at Glenelg ... the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the food came out quickly, & the coffee was some of the best I've had in a long time. I highly recommend it, so do check it out if you're...

Last stop on my cafe cruise...

Took the COVID 19 issue very seriously. They had a counter set up outside the door. You were met by a very friendly staff member who offered a number of seating options and made sure you signed in using the Gov app. I have to say it was refreshing to see a business doing the right thing through the pandemic. It puts you at ease well it did for me.

The place is very nice. Lots of seats inside and out + a decent size bench a long the window which is nice if you're just having a coffee.

Service was excellent! Staff would pop past and ask if you needed or wanted anything even after you had rec'd your coffee. It was great to see this level of service which you dont get very often in SA.

Coffee was great (De Groot) and service was super very quick.

I'll certainly...

This time, we set sail for breakfast at Seafaring Fools—but as the saying goes, fool me once… We ordered the Fool’s Big Breakfast, lured in by the siren song of “fluffy pancakes.” Turns out, they were as fluffy as promised, but the toast? The toast was drier than the table napkins provided, and yes, l did consider trying the table napkins just for comparison. And the bacon? The bacon was way overcooked, like the poor piggy had been cremated over cooked. However, on the bright side, the service was fast, and the coffee was… drinkable, and did l mention the pancakes were fluffy...very fluffy. But hey, as always, this was just our experience. Maybe you’ll have a better one, so don't discount sailing on down to Seafaring Fools for breakfast.
