I was told there would be an extra charge if I wanted honey in my coffee. A small cup of coffee was priced at $5.70, which is already quite high. I’ve never come across a place that charges extra for honey. When I declined to place the order, the staff member (a young girl) responded with a dismissive attitude, as if she didn’t care. I ended up going to the cafe upstairs, where they made me a wonderful coffee, without charging extra for honey.
Overall, the experience left me disappointed with both the pricing and the customer service. I hope management takes this feedback on board, as small gestures of fairness and courtesy can make a big difference in retaining customers. The coffee was boiling hot, was mostly water with a splash of milk and at best a 1/3 of a shot of coffee. The scone was tasteless and rubbery, and reheated in a microwave which just topped it off. I sat for a moment thinking of complaining but decided to just walk away from that trainwreck, what good would a replacement do at that point... Customer service was quick, friendly and efficient, but I would have been better just going home and making an instant coffee and saving the $8.
