Shame shame shame! You PHOTO SHOP 1 of my pictures and then have the hide to have it as a promotional picture? Seriously your restaurant's a a very badly over priced, under serviced, health hazard & I don't care what meals you give your friends to give you good reviews. Pathetic!! If you've lost the passion to cook?? QUIT and STOP 🛑🛑🛑 destroying beautiful seafood. Please!!!!!!! I believe this ''Seafood restaurant'' is an embarrassment to the restaurant industry. Before I start on the numerous health code violations. We'll talk about the staff. The unapproachable, arrogant and beautiful food destroying chef. Whom looked liked he had clocked out at lunch time so it seemed. The waitress barely spoke any English except for when new people stopped to look at the menu and payment for the little bit of food we could eat. I thought they were joking when she gave me the bill. When you're paying $17:50 for lettuce with 4 non deveined and frozen prawns. I ordered a dish that any home cook, let alone a Chef could cook not this 1! You don't coat 1 of the oceans best gifts in flower and toss it in the deep fryer. ($46) Hands were not washed and gloves were not worn during food prep. This includes the staff out the back. The bill when walked out of this run down FishFxxckery and chip shop was $145. For 2x prawn cocktails(8) prawns all up, $45 for some deep fried baby Morten Bay bugs with a creamy sauce that you could've used the skin as anti baby making cover and the lettuce. No shortage of that around here, any salad there's just lettuce, lettuce, lettuce and a chunk of really unappealing tomato! No dressing could be seen or tasted! My partner got the lettuce with prawns $42. Then the venue it's self. Run down, dirty floors, semi dead plant in the corner.(Not the chef)1 It was packed with early 90's furniture. The seat's had cusions that were stained and disgusting. The kitchen area not a piece of clean glass or stainless steel anywhere. The cooking oil resembled sump from a tractor. From the black mold on the ceiling of the Mens toilet to the algy in the wash basin. Oh and how could I forget the back ally! It's in the posted pictures. I'm extreme dissatisfied with this Restaurant and I personally will...
Read moreDining Experience @ Paul's Seafood On Gouger. . Founded by Bill Paul in 1946, Paul's Seafood On Gouger is a bastion of the Adelaide dining scene, a long-serving icon of seafood delights. . Ambience is basic. It's almost a shack rather than a restaurant, with 2 levels of warmly lit space cramped with basic wooden tables and cushioned chairs, vibe hailing from the 1980s. The open kitchen at the entrance means the odour of frying and grilling hangs in the air, while golden oldies music plays in the background. . Service is welcoming and friendly, with staff according each table personalised attention. They demonstrate good product knowledge, work quickly at fulfilling requests or cleaning up, and introduce dishes as they serve. . Food is Australian Seafood cuisine, with a good variety of fish, shellfish, and other options, either grilled or battered and fried. Portions are large for individuals. Prices command a slight premium, budget about AUD $50 per person. . The Salt & Pepper Calamari Squid (AUD $15) has bouncy fresh calamari squid pieces, coated in a crisp spice-infused golden batter. Has a lovely sweet salty savoury spice flavour. Addictively tasty, kept reaching for more. . The Moreton Bay Bug (AUD $45.90) has 3 whole moreton bay bugs / slipper lobsters sliced in half, coated with a light batter then grilled to perfection. These gourmet seafood morsels have a chunky bouncy tender texture with addictive smoky sweet savoury salty buttery...
Read moreSO MANY Better seafood places for quality and affordability. Don't waste your time.
PROS: Service was good Battered seafood were enjoyable. However only as good as your reasonably good local $10 fish and chip shop.
Cons: Decor is old and rundown. I know the owners are trying to bring history and show its heritage that it's been running for many years. BUT there is a big difference between showing their heritage, and their peeling wallpaper and chipped chairs from never being replaced. The pricing is highly unreasonable for the service and food they are selling. It's literally a fish and chip shop, no more and no less. Only difference is that they price their food items higher. Even with high pricing, the plating is legitmately as basic as your local fish and chip shop. Salad has quarter of a tomato with no seasoning, like the rest of the reviews. Oyster's were definitely not fresh and tasted insanely fishy. Chips were stale because half the chips were hard as rock where the fork could...
