Royal Tandoori Restaurant — Restaurant in Adelaide

Absolutely disgusted. I ordered food through Menulog. The restaurant calls me from a personal number to say the item I ordered isn’t available. Fine things happen. But then they tell me they can’t cancel the order and I have to do it myself.

So I go to cancel it, and Menulog says I’ll lose 100% of my money. Are you serious?

I didn’t change my mind. I didn’t make a mistake. The restaurant couldn’t fulfil the order. And somehow I’m the one being punished?

I contacted both the restaurant and Menulog. Both just shrugged it off. “Not our problem.” “That’s how the system works.” No apology. No accountability. Just cold responses and passing the blame. In the end, I’m charged full price for food I never received. No refund. No service. Just silence. This is theft, plain and simple. Two companies profiting from a failed order like it’s nothing. If this is how you treat paying customers, you don’t deserve a single cent...

I ordered Goan lamb curry, lamb vindaloo & khaber pilau for $31.00... Quality & price astounding! I've noticed the sheer majority of complaints here are made by people that probably work for competition. The complaints about lack of meat are ludicrous. A main for $13.00 in 2025 isn't going to be packed with meat. If you want extra meat, enquire how much extra meat costs! 4 stars for atmosphere because the floor was sticky. Besides that, unbeatable price, quality & customer service. Indian is my favourite food & this restaurant is easily in the top 5 I've ever experienced & I've been to 100s around Australia! The only thing missing on the menu is Mysore! I will be enquiring soon to see if I can have head chefs Surinder or Sunny personally prepare me an off the menu traditional lamb or goat Mysore. Have been coming to this very understated little restaurant for over 20 years! It's had it's up & down moments over the years, but generally speaking this is the best, most authentic Indian food we've ever had anywhere in Australia! Great serves and NOT overpriced like a lot of Indian Restaurants. Very friendly staff, the same family that have been there from the start.
