Update: I’ve raised my rating to 5 stars, for a couple of reasons. The improvement in service from friendly but a bit slow to friendly and attentive has continued to the point that it’s really great service now and a cut above the average in Adelaide. The food is great; still a bit on the interesting side but - as my 10yo daughter said today - ‘delightful’. Try the halloumi burger with the extra of bacon. The atmosphere- well it’s still loud but have a mimosa or an excellent martini espresso (or both) and hopefully you’ll find it pleasantly funky and social experience like I did.

I’m a bit torn about this place...
Plus side: Great concept - it’s a relaxed, fun place that’s dog-friendly which must make it almost unique in Adelaide. The decor is interesting and it’s light and airy. The food is... interesting. Meals are generously proportioned - so no problem there - but the breakfast menu items all have a bit of a spin to them, which is good if you like mixing it up a bit but sometimes it’s been tricky to choose something for the less adventurous.
Negative side: It’s noisy. Some places just seem to magnify sounds and this is one of them - to the point that I struggle to have a conversation here. It’s a personal thing- I find noisy environments like this a bit oppressive but if you don’t you’ll probably be fine. Service was consistently friendly but slow in the past, however on our most recent visit the staff were far more attentive.
So all in all a bit of a mixed experience and hence the 3 stars. Possibly a tad harsh and if the service continues on its upward trajectory I’ll happily...
Read moreWhat a heavenly morning! Every time I have breakfast here, I can’t resist going back to their insanely good fried chicken—originally paired with waffles and now served with hotcakes. This is where I found the ultimate combination: gooey, fluffy, crispy, moist, juicy, sweet, savoury, and spicy all coming together perfectly on one plate. Let me share about my amazing breakfast! Starting from the top, a perfectly cooked fried egg with crispy, lacy edges and a gooey, rich yolk. Then, crispy, tasty bacon. And of course, the star of the show: the golden fried chicken, with an unbelievably crunchy coating and tender, juicy meat inside. Finally, the ultimate crispy and fluffy waffles (or now hotcakes!) served with a sweet and spicy sauce. Seriously, just look at all that flavor happening! This is what I call heaven on a plate.
To make it even better, I always pair it with a cozy hot chocolate, or sometimes a fresh juice mix of orange, strawberry, apple, and lime for a refreshing boost.
Here’s my must-try list: • Breakfast: Fried Chicken & Waffles (or fluffy Hotcakes now!) for those who love a little spice, and the French Toast is perfectly delicious and a favorite with kids too! • Drinks: A latte or hot chocolate to lift your mood, or the mixed fresh juice to kickstart your day...
Read moreVery nice place when you walk in. Amazing ambiance. Well decorated. Nice looking food. Then they walk you out the back of the restaurant and sit you in an office foyer between the building toilets and elevators... No music out there. No decoration. No ambiance. Nothing. Just a tired old office block foyer.
Our party of 3 adults and one infant were offered 3 sides of the 1m * 1m table (the other side was 50cm from the next table and so unusable). When we asked to sit inside the restaurant at the empty table of four in there we were told that it had been allocated and we wouldn't be able to take it. Maybe they didn't want our little boy ruining their vibe. If that's the case then just don't offer bookings for kids and we wouldn't go.
They've obviously been successful and gotten greedy and think sticking people in any space they can get is okay. The table we were offered was an insult. We didn't stay.
If you're booking this place be sure to insist on the phone that you get a table inside the restaurant.
To the restaurant - put your reputation and customer experience over squeezing a few more dollars out of the place.
We won't...
