I stayed at Coral Sea Resort on September 11 and was deeply disappointed. I do not recommend this hotel if you care about cleanliness, peace, or a good night’s sleep. In the middle of the night, around 2 AM, I found two cockroaches running around in the bathroom. It was disgusting and terrifying. Knowing that cockroaches often indicate poor sanitation, I immediately called the front desk. Greg came to help but couldn’t fully resolve the issue—one cockroach remained hiding in the bathroom. He sprayed insecticide, which left a strong chemical smell that made it hard to breathe, but the cockroach was still there. I was refused a room change and had to spend the night anxious and unable to sleep. To make matters worse, there was also a large moth fluttering around the room late at night—I even have a video of it. Between the cockroaches, the moth, the chemical smell, and the noise from outside and early morning workers, it was impossible to rest. What’s more, I found a hair on the bedsheet that hadn’t even been used. Hygiene is clearly not a priority here. I paid over $320 for this stay and expected a clean, comfortable, and safe environment. Unfortunately, Coral Sea Resort failed miserably. The management’s response to my complaint has been unsatisfactory—they blamed the “tropical location,” but other hotels in Airlie Beach at half the price didn’t have these issues. I saw the manager's reply but I couldn't reply below it, so I have to clarify here. It's shameless for them to say the night manager found the slider open - he's never been to check my window that night, he only checked the toilet and then left. For a so-called high-end hotel, it is astonishing that they would fabricate such a story and even claim there were no cockroaches—when the night manager himself admitted to seeing one and watching it crawl into the gap by the bathroom door. The fact that the hotel refuses to acknowledge this reality and instead tries to shift the blame onto the guest speaks volumes about how poorly the place is managed.

Don’t waste your money here !!!! I was excited to stay at this venue however I was extremely disappointed Arrived to the check-in to discover two Girls playing on their phones chatting with each other while 3 guests are standing waiting to check in, finally got their attention away from whatever was on Instagram checked in and asked a few simple questions and got the most unhospital and unhelpful helpful response .. which was disappointing start to the experience and appalling customer service really. Next checked into the room to discover the chair covered in mould . (Health hazard) stains on the lounge and a few marks on the bed sheets .. it was disgusting really not what I expected from this venue. considering how useless the staff were I didn’t bother to complain , just grit my teeth grabbed a beer and enjoyed the view . Good location , but the service and room are well below any standard .. Another thing to note . The inroom TV has no entertainment… so bring your Netflix details ..lol At 600 a night … it’s woeful … look on airbnb for some amazing accommodation alternatives

The resort exceeded all my expectations. The room offered breathtaking views that changed beautifully throughout the day—I never grew tired of them. The food and service were outstanding; I even had the best pasta of my life here, despite having traveled frequently to Italy and lived in New York City. A special thanks to Dylan at the reception, who went above and beyond by arranging a last-minute air trip for me. He contacted multiple agents and made it possible for me to enjoy one of the best tours to Heart Reef. Truly unforgettable.

If you want to be treated terribly by a rude member of staff for having the audacity to tell them that the nightclub music that suddenly began playing on a speaker right next to your outdoor table so loudly we could no longer have a conversation, then this is the place for you. ||I had recommended and booked this resort for myself and some friends who had flown in from all over the country. While waiting for our room to be ready we sat outside near the pool and enjoyed some food and stunning scenery. Our initial impressions were that the staff were wonderful, with interaction with reception and staff from the onsite restaurant being really positive.||Around 1:00pm a DJ started playing nightclub style music really loudly and we unfortunately were next to the outdoor speaker. When making a comment about the volume (and hideous) music to a staff member walking past, we were immediately accosted and she made it clear she was irritated by the feedback and promptly suggested we moved while telling us ‘the DJ had been advertised and she was absolutely not going to alter the volume’. We moved tables and she returned and aggressively spoke to the group again. I made a complaint about her behaviour at reception and they were apologetic but also not surprised when I identified what had happened as apparently she was known for this type of behaviour. ||The stay in our room was pleasant and this is the third time I have stayed here. However, due to our experience with this staff member, we chose not to utilise the restaurant for dinner in case she was still there. We stopped purchasing food and drinks, and immediately went to our room when it was ready. It has put my friends off coming back as it is their only experience with the resort. So disappointed as I had been telling them how great the place was. We had considered extending our stay prior to this, but ultimately...

MAKE PROMISES AND FULFIL THEM (LACK OF RELIABILITY / HONESTY / SERVICE)

We spent two nights at the Coral Sea Resort at the beginning of August 2025.

Unfortunately, however, we do not have good memories of our stay in terms of the reliability, honesty, and service of the hotel.

The following happened: After we left, we realized that our daughter had forgotten her beloved cuddly toy in the hotel room. After contacting the hotel, we were told that the stuffed animal had been found.

We asked for the cuddly toy to be sent to our home address in Germany at our expense. We were then asked to get a shipping label ourselves and send it to the hotel. We had hoped for some assistance from the hotel at this point, as we, being foreign guests, were unfortunately unfamiliar with the Australian postal/parcel services.

However, due to the high emotional importance of the cuddly toy for our daughter, we naturally acquired and paid for the parcel label and sent it to the hotel.

Ten weeks have now passed and the cuddly toy has still not been sent. In the meantime, we have sent four further requests/reminders to the hotel asking them about the status and to send the cuddly toy. In each of these emails, we were assured that the cuddly toy was still there and would be sent shortly.

We have repeatedly put off and reassured our daughter, promising her (as we were assured by the hotel) that she would soon be able to hold her beloved stuffed animal in her arms again. Unfortunately, nothing has happened! We are very disappointed and would have expected a different level of service and, above all, honesty and reliability from a hotel in this price range.

We will now try to explain to our daughter that she will not be getting her favorite stuffed animal back.

Dear reader or interested guest: Unfortunately, you have to ask yourself how reliable and honest the hotel's...
