Bojangles Saloon & Dining Room — Restaurant in Alice Springs

Okay but sometimes staff are terrible. Daily specials are good. I had one occasion waiting over an hour for food order. I should have realised the staff member didnt know what she was doing when she asked me if I wanted a schooner or pint of coke. Then she lied to colleague about serving me. Edit: Not sure if manager or owner or someone else responded and said I did not post full story so let me complete it for them and all. Yes i did get given a offer of free drink, appreciated, but but this was was the third staff member i went to speak to ask about what happened with my food order and the other 2 ignored me. Secondly my use of the word "lie" is because the you as manager/or person that finally tried to look into it and resolve it, was because in front of me you asked two staff if either of them served me and both including the one that did said NO. This was in front of me. Then you asked which counter it was done! I came in there to grab something and go to a meeting but ended up having to log in on my phone. It was 1 hour and 33 mins into the meeting when you found and brought the food. And then when trying to eat one of your other patrons in red t-shirt who was dining then playing pool tried to hassle me to buy them a beer thinking i was Aboriginal. If you have cameras it should be there. The week prior no issues with food and different set of staff that would even say goodbye when leaving. But that week had this delay and another time where staff forgot to put order on the buzzer/timer so had to hang around bar food pickup areas as requested due to this error which i did without complaining, only cos staff member admitted error and said she will...

The decorations at this restaurant are the only positive I can comment on. The food, service, and billing were absolutely atrocious. The short blonde haired waitress we ordered dinner from never submitted our order, yet we were charged twice for dinner. After waiting 45+ min for food (with buzzer sitting at our table) we finally enquirer only to learn “oops I forgot to send in your order”. No apology, food came out 10 min later and was disgusting. Guinness meat pie was a tiny bit of steak in a dish with mashed potatoes on top. The minute piece of steak was cold and rubbery. When we complained the same waitress told us it didn’t matter our food was bad, because she “forgot to charge us” and that if we checked our bank statement, not to worry that there wouldn’t be a charge. Wrong, we were charge TWICE for the meal. When we confronted the owner of the restaurant with our downloaded bank statement in hand showing the two charges, both she and him yelled at us (with profanity) with the waitress calling us liars. I have never experienced such appalling service, especially by a restaurant owner and am disappointed that this happened on our vacation. If I could give zero or negative star I would. I use to like the place, making it the pub I go to, until I found out about the bouncers competencies, not that I was refused entry that day... I was to meet my wife and colleagues there. When my wife arrived, they told her she was intoxicated. She was our designated driver for the night and was sober. They did not believe she had not had a drink and because she had a stainless steel water bottle in her handbag, that they thought was filled with alcohol, they emptied her bag in the street. Then while she was collecting her belongings ungracefully left on the footpath by Bojangles staff, mister bouncer handed over to her the bottle from one hand, the cap from the other hand. She asked if he could at least close it, her hands were full, but he refused using rude language. She was refused entry and had no other choice than to leave after being told to make space. Half an hour later, our workmates also ended up in an altercation with the bulldog guarding the entrance and left after telling the bouncers off.
