I recently dined at Bargara Asian Cuisine and I must say, it was a complete disappointment. My experience at this restaurant was riddled with problems, leaving a sour taste in my mouth - both literally and metaphorically.
Firstly, I ordered the half roasted duck, expecting a delicious and well-prepared dish. However, what I received was a haphazardly chopped up duck, complete with bones and everything. It was incredibly frustrating to navigate the dish, constantly having to avoid chomping down on bones and dealing with the inconvenience of having to deconstruct the dish myself.
To add insult to injury, the pork belly dish I ordered was served with a shocking surprise - hair. Yes, you heard it right, hair on my plate. It is appalling and downright disgusting that such a basic hygiene standard was ignored by the kitchen staff. This not only ruined my appetite but also left me questioning the cleanliness and standards of the entire establishment.
Even the supposedly kid-friendly fish and chips dish disappointed. The fish was overcooked and dry, lacking any flavor or freshness. It seemed like a mere afterthought, lacking care and attention in its preparation. As a parent, it was disheartening to watch my child struggle to enjoy their meal due to its subpar quality.
Lastly, the soft shell crab dish, which I had high hopes for, turned out to be a major letdown. It lacked any discernible taste or seasoning, making it an utterly flavorless experience. I was truly disappointed as soft shell crab is typically known for its delicate, crispy, and flavorful nature, but this dish fell far short of my expectations.
Overall, my dining experience at Bargara Asian Cuisine was a complete disaster. From poorly prepared and presented dishes to basic hygiene oversights, it is clear that this restaurant lacks the necessary attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone looking for an enjoyable dining experience. Save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere for a quality Asian...
Read moreWe are regular customers to this restaurant. The initial waitress who took my order over the phone incorrectly told me that the butterfly prawns did not contain any meat. I double checked with her by asking if any of the dishes contain meat, she confirmed and said no. I went above and beyond to meet their minimum delivery requirement of $60 and paid an additional $8 for the deliver. I am a 3-5 minute drive, living in Bargara.
When we received the delivery, we saw pork slices on the butterfly prawns. I called up the restaurant spoke to a waitress named Bree. All she could offer was a refund, but we wanted compensation by having a different dish delivered instead. The manager was too busy to come to the phone. I told Bree I am 9 months pregnant and I won’t be able to come down to the restaurant within the next two weeks to claim a refund. I also mentioned that I ordered the butterfly prawns to meet the minimum delivery free of $60 and still had to pay an additional delivery charge of $8. Bree was very difficult and dismissive. She claimed the fuel cost was more costly than sustaining a loyal customer. When telling her we are thoroughly upset with the order, she went on about how the manager is too busy to take our call and that her job does not entail doing paper work. She kept reiterating again and again that fuel costs is not enough for them to make another delivery to ours, despite us living only 3-5 minutes away. And she made it very clear that the fuel cost was more important than its customers and the mistake they made. Would have been more professional if the manager had taken the time to speak to us. Instead we were left poorly handled by Bree and left feeling awful with the mistake they had made and now we have lost trust with the restaurant which we frequently visited and will not be...
Read moreService was good and prompt. We are travellers from interstate and familiar with Chinese international food. We don’t like giving negative reviews, we know that business is finding it tough, however we must, as maybe they can get another head cook and make the food enjoyable. We ordered Beef Sate, and another dish Chicken and cashews along with a large rice. The two dishes were tasteless, I understand that Chinese traditionally have fresh meats and beautiful home made broths to give flavours but this cooking failed on all counts. The meat - floppy soft and jelly slimy like. Maybe over processed and boiled not fresh as chicken usually is? I am trying to give an idea of what I put in my mouth. Sate is peanut..but no peanut taste. I am a good cook and I know what is fresh. Local cheaper Courgette was the main vegetable. Sorry about this review. We sent othe beef back and shared the chicken as we need some food. They did not charge us for...
