See Street Seafood Take-Aways — Restaurant in Bargara

Sunday night my wife and I were looking for something easy to eat as we had just driven into town. My wife ordered a Red Emperor and chips, no salt (due to a medical condition) and I ordered battered prawns and scallops with 6 pieces of calamari. The order arrived & my wife's had no salt, just as we ordered. We have found this is not the case in all establishments. To say this food is up there with the best is not a lie. The batter was crisp and the oil fresh, nothing was greasy. The milkshake I ordered was devoured with delight as the taste was spot on as was the seafood. The calamari was melt in your mouth soft on the inside with a crispy crumbing on the outside. Everything was just yum, so we went back the next day & got a burger each. Again these were top notch and they had beetroot on them... Not many places put beetroot on a burger anymore but for me it's not a real burger without the beetroot. When we ordered the gent thanked us and stated that he really appreciated our business - a really nice touch in this day and age. I wish I had photos to share, but the food was inhaled with gusto before any thoughts of that...

So so Rude, I checked the opening hours before driving to this See St fish n chips. Saturday night opening was till 8pm as above. I arrived at 7.25 and was told they had just closed. I then asked if I could just get chips and was told all turned off. Serving were two teenagers, I mentioned to the female, it would be good if they could change the opening hours on their website. Her answer to me was "not my problem". I replied it would be helpful for their business as it was false advertising. Again her reply was "I don't care." I asked the young male if there was anywhere else, got a blunt no. So Rude, I would give 0 stars. Certainly the worst experience. I just went around the corner and fortunately their fish and chips...

The google reviews sounded great but the experience was terrible! Our order took so long, like about 40 minutes! They werent even very busy and we were crazy hungry! Then we noticed the Staff were out the front smoking which was very offputing, they also kept wiping sweat off there face with their hands which looked unclean so we threw most of the food out. The fish was dry and the chips undercooked. We wont be back. The hotel concierge told us to go to the seafood shop beside the bakery when we come back through at Christmas time. Hopefully that bit of information is helpful to others! Bargara Beach is super beautiful...
