Came to this place with great expectations and left feeling not just disapopointed, but totally let down.
In a group of 8, 6 had pasta that was severely undercooked. I LOVE Al Dente, but this wasn't even close. I was led to believe the pasta was fresh and made on site. You simply cannot make fresh pasta that hard. I think I bent the tyne of my fork trying to penetrate the spaghetti and the macaroni.
I had the chilli prawns with a seafood chilli bisque. Cannot fault the flavour actually, it was quite tasty, BUT THE PRAWNS. . . . . . what a different story. They lacked any texture whatsoever and resembled soft tofu ( I actually think that might have been preferrable and I loathe Tofu). I don't kknow how they achieved that feat - and I really don't want to know.
I tried my partner's cheese and mac with truffles. The aroma of truffles was delightful, but this did not translate to the taste. The dish was so salty you could drop a plate of this dish in the dead sea to raise its salinity levels. My partner stopped eating after just 2 or 3 forks of her plate as a better name for it could have been "Death by Sodium Chloride". Another diner with us had the Beef and Pork Ragout and made a similar observation about that dish.
After leaving, we had a brief chat about the food and I did not hear a single positive or even neutral comment about the food. We all went to a wine bar across the main road to wash...
Read moreIncredibly disappointed at our service we received. Booked a local dinner for our wedding anniversary. Firstly booked the patio, we were seated inside instead, next to the kitchen with available seats by the window with water views. I did advise it is our anniversary dinner. Some please in future take notice of special occasions. We were then given menus with drinks order taken, then a few moments later our pasta order. As our order was being taken the waiter was walking away while I was skill ordering. (Food order taken and wine order while he was walking away) My meal came out a was not what I ordered. Perhaps waiting and listening to the order will Eliminate mistakes!! When my incorrect order was given, the apologised and asked if we wanted wine….we had already ordered wine but it was never input into the system. I waited for my food while my husband finished his meal. However my meal was worth the wait. We ordered dessert and, however I believe they may have forgotten to put the order in. We waited nearly 30 minutes for dessert. I did not say anything when we left as I did not want to cause a scene on an our anniversary dinner however they were aware of poor service they provided. was no offer of compensation on our meal, a simple gesture of a free drink or dessert would have really done wonders. It’s a shame really. We are locals, the food is amazing - the service was poor which is why I...
Read moreNice view on the patio but it took 40 mins to be served 2 pasta dishes. Both came out cold with sauces almost solidified making me think they sat on a kitchen bench for a while.
To really nitpick, I don’t like when restaurants don’t actually serve the dishes written on the menu. The vodka sauce wasn’t really a vodka sauce, and the bolognese served with “gremolata” was actually just diced fresh parsley. One pasta was meant to be linguine while the other was meant to be tagliatelle but both dishes came out with the same pasta…. What’s the purpose of describing the dish on the menu if you aren’t going to follow it? To seem fancy? Just showed that the place is a bit mediocre
Probably only worth coming for drinks and the...
