Wow what a find! The food is truly 10/10.
The meat is extremely tender as if it’s been slow cooked, the sauces have so much flavour and spice can be tailored to your liking. Everything is cooked fresh to order.
The owners are so very kind and accomodating.
The vindaloo was the best I’ve had full of flavour the meat was extremely tender as If it had been slow cooked, no grissle or fat high quality. Butter chicken had a tandoor (how? In a food truck) sauce was complex and creamy my kids loved it (does not have that canned tomato soup taste so many Indian restaurants have). Garlic naan loaded with flavour and garlic, papadams great, sauces great and samosas excellent.
We have also had the eggplant baingan, chicken tikka, Rogan Josh and korma. ALL AMAZING.
My only suggestion would be teaming up with a delivery service such as Menulog, Uber eats or door dash. They do offer home delivery according to their menu but the times I’ve asked it’s been unavailable due to short staffing. Which is totally understandable due to how small their operation is.
This review has been given after 5 visits. It’s truly the best Indian I’ve had outside of the UK. Go and support this fantastic local business they deserve it.
The pack for 2 feeds 2 adults and 2 kids under 6 well and truly here for $65....

I recently had the misfortune of takeway frim HelloFoody in Portarlington during my visit to the Great Ocean Road, and the experience left much to be desired. As an Indian traveler accustomed to diverse and flavorful cuisine, I was eager to try indian food in Australia. However, my expectations were shattered by the subpar quality and exorbitant prices at HelloFoody.
The food I received was nothing short of pathetic. The flavors were bland, the ingredients seemed stale, and the presentation was lackluster. It felt like a complete waste of money, and I couldn't help but feel deceived by the hype surrounding HelloFoody.
It's evident that HelloFoody is taking advantage of unsuspecting Australian customers by offering them mediocre food at premium prices. The establishment's lack of commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is appalling, and it tarnishes the reputation of Australian culinary culture.
In conclusion, I urge fellow travelers to steer clear of HelloFoody in Portarlington and explore other dining options that offer authentic and enjoyable dining or takeway experiences. Don't fall for the HelloFoody facade – it's nothing but a disappointment...
Read moreWe drove to Portarlington just to get some fresh air and were starving and hoping we'd find some decent food in this quiet township. Ended up parking right in front of the food truck and had no idea of the spectacular meal that awaited us. Hands down the best Indian food we've had. It was made fresh as we waited and served with a smile and a friendly hello. We knew from the get go that it was going too be as fresh as it can be from the samosas that were served. Then came the naans.. they were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside (I'd have preferred a tiny bit more salt, but couldn't even stop to ask for it!!) and had plenty of garlic unlike most other places. The prawn curry and the chicken was to die for!!!! Took home the left overs and tasted so good the next day morning, even slightly better like curries tend to. Cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu and plan to bring back plenty more dishes too. What an absolute gem. Thank you, and we highly...
