I do NOT recommend the post house of Berry Thai at all. Their service is horrible. We are visiting from Sydney, and turned up at 5pm as soon as they opened for dinner, the restaurant was empty, despite requesting to sit inside as there is a chill in the air and with a young child, she declined and said they had reservations at 5:45pm and would be full. We advised weâd be finished by then or happy to be moved when diners came, she said no. So we sat outside and got mauled by mosquitoes all over, and by the time we finished eating at 6, the restaurant inside was still empty! To top it off itâs a rip off, we were charged $88 for a meal that we get in Sydney at the best thai restaurant for $60. To add insult to injury, when I asked to take my food away, she wanted to charge us 50 cents for the one plastic container, the audacity! Even after we left them a tip! Honestly gobsmacked at the appalling service, you get better service at a food truck stop. Also the food is average, and we asked for mild spice for the prawn stir fry and what we got was flaming hot chilli, clearly uninterested in the diners experience. There are plenty of other places in...
Read moreThis restaurant is situated in the old posthouse and the interior has been beautifully decorated in the traditional federation style with stained glass windows above the door and lovely chandeliers. The bathrooms are also well renovated in federation style and clean. The menu is not a traditional Thai menu, its a bit fusion and upmarket, no green curry chicken, no pad Thai or Pad See U served here, but the food we had was delicious and fresh. We enjoyed every mouthful of vegetarian spring rolls, curry puffs, and coconut prawns for entree, followed by mains of chilli jam prawns, soft shell crab, and a delicious salmon fillet papaya salad. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was with the wines, which were not to our liking and a bit pricey. We ordered a bottle of Rose and a Riesling and were...
Read moreIt was pouring with rain and I took shelter on this restaurant's porch, sitting at a table, while my daughter used the facilities in the park. The restaurant was deserted as it was mid afternoon. I was only going to be there a minute - I am wearing a moonboot and didn't want it to get wet. The woman at the counter came out and told me to get off the porch. I pointed out it was raining hard and she said "I don't care, that's your problem". She continued to yell at me as I walked away. I don't think i have ever been spoken to so rudely by a business operator. Sure - it's your property but I wasn't doing it any damage and surely this is not the warm and welcoming vibe that the rest of Berry is so good at...
