I've driven past 100 times and never seen this place empty. Today I found out why. I don't even know where to start so I'll start at the most important, coffee. I don't say this a lot but wow. Rich and flavourful with just the right amount of bitterness. The coffee was expertly brewed with a creamy milky froth on the top. I also ordered the avocado and chicken roll and had that toasted, I worked for a very well known baguette and sandwich company that supplied a high end city sandwich store. So when I say this was as good as any roll I've eaten anywhere I'm not exaggerating. The roll itself I don't know who baked it but it was perfect, it was fresh chicken I'm guessing they cook their own and the accompanying mayonnaise was so perfect. The salad was perfectly balanced. my wife ordered my daughter a cinnamon scroll and she got an escargot. While we were eating the owner bought us out an acai bowl free of charge for my daughter. But she wasn't actually hungry so I didn't want to waste it. And it was splendid. I will getting another one of those next time. The owner and staff are absolutely lovely. If you are in the area do yourself a flavour and head on...
Read moreGood Kibi too.
OK, I've already written one review of Oushk. This is a follow up.
On my last visit to Oushk I had falafel, which I've already reviewed as being top. Today I went to try the Kibi. Kibi is like lamb mince meat ball with burgal wheat. The Kibi at Oushk is good. I had it as a "wrap" with Tabouli, Hommus, and Baba Ganouj. It was delicious.
As it was a Monday, it was quiet at Oushk and I got to speak with the owners. They are from the Middle East and so all the food is authentic.
They now do their own Baclava which gets them extra points from me, and they got me to try their "Mamoul", of which they offer one kind with walnuts and one with pistachios. I got one of each. They are very good for a sweet and would be great with a coffee.
So, it's a top place for Falafel and Kibi and the like. The Tabouli is tops too. For me, the Kibi could have more spice... I like my food very spicy... They do fancy Acia which I haven't had.
I'm going back.
So you know, I have no personal connection with the place. I just like having quality middle eastern cuisine close to home. "Try it,...
Read moreFood is pretty good but we came 12:30 on a Sunday and there are 4 tables outside with no chairs. Went to go get some chairs from inside and was told they don’t do dine in and only take away. They said we can move the tables to a wall down the street to sit on if we wanted. What’s the point of tables if you don’t have chairs? I would avoid if you want to have a nice relaxing weekend. If you don’t mind driving another 5 mins down the road to Port Coogee I would recommend CRU Health + Juice Bar. Cheaper prices for Açai Bowls and you can sit down and enjoy!
Edit after owner review. All you need to do is go to IKEA and buy some stools and people will be happy. I look forward to my next visit and seeing the response. Covid has affected everyone and listen to feedback don’t defend decisions made. Especially when there was 10+ people outside that...
