First time at Onesta Cucina and it was an absolute blast! Italian food prepared with love. The food was fantastic, tasty and filling. We had the whole fried river prawns, wagyu bresaola, linguine ai frutti di mare, wagyu sirloin (med rare) w/ peppercorn sauce and capped it off with the tortino for dessert. Also had a couple ciders to go with the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and packed a punch in taste. The waiters were very friendly, communicative and had great attention to detail (aligning cutlery and would come back if he had forgotten to take away anything). The chef even made a heart shape with the tortino raspberry syrup because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary! Great touch, appreciated it. Overall would highly rate and would come back next time we are in the area! Should also book ahead as it gets packed!

A great eating experience. The food was sensational. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and helpful with our orders. The scallops as an entree were delicious. We were told there would be a wait for the lasagna which we ordered and the other pasta dish. The lasagna was nice but could've used more herbs; the other pasta was superb. The decor was nice too. The only blip for the evening was paying. We waited a few minutes as one of the workers was preoccupied with the computer. Once we finally got his attention, he was abrupt and dismissive. The EFTPOS machine was extremely slow and didn't work a couple of times. Once it did work he pretty much turned away and left us to leave on our own. An unfortunate end to an otherwise pleasant evening.

I would say that the dining experience overall was superb. The atmosphere was lively and the service was very friendly and professional. I ordered a range of entrees, one beef and two seafood both of which were perfectly cooked. On the table we ordered pork belly, veal risotto and a spagetti dish with sides of peas and carrots. All of which were delicious and proportioned. We had a range of nice Itallian desserts accompanied by an affogato which were also to die for. We also had a bottle of 2013 red, decantered till aromatic. If you are looking for a nice, slighty posh Itallian restaurant I would highly recommend. Ps. Even the bathrooms were luxurious.

Yummy food but it was a busy night and service was slightly lacking. We only heard the specials from the waiter serving the tables around us. I have a feeling our waiter was not happy that I was on my phone when needing more time to order, I am a very visual person and needed to see photos of the dishes to decide. We didn't hear from him again after that. Unfortunately, there was a giant gap between our entre and main courses as there were two big groups, even though we had ordered first. But highly rate the ragu pasta and potatoes. It's not often you see half servings of side dishes but it was appreciated and allowed us to have more variety of the sides

Whilst down in the Southern Highlands, we dined at Onesta Cucina. The family owned and operated fully restaurant is large, and chatter of the guests made it feel very homely. We visited with my family and small baby, and we found it a welcoming place. The food is wonderful, high quality Italian food with a good range of options from pasta to slow cooked meats and more. We tried a steak, the confit duck, pork belly and a pasta. The food was all presented beautifully too. We loved it! Can we recommend ordering a side of the delicious peas with pancetta and polenta fries. Service was exceptional and food was served in a timely fashion.

Had high expectations after many recommendations, the reviews and the price point. The scallop entree was succulent and very promising but the mains were not particularly special (though not bad). The orecchiete in particular was rather one dimensional and may have benefited from something like pine nuts to add more texture and a different flavour element. Most disappointing of all was the banoffee pie which was mostly toffee with slivers of banana before a dollop of cream on top. Our waitress was young but attentive - hope her wrist recovers soon.
