Harry's is a gorgeous venue inside and out. The interior is filled with gorgeous antique pieces, art, books and a fireplace. It’s a cosy setting and perfect in the cooler months. We ended up sitting outside, but we were kept warm with the heaters and blankets provided on the chairs. The service from their staff was impeccable! They were super friendly and such a pleasure to deal with from the moment we sat down to the time we left. On weekends, Harry’s offer two lunch sittings and set price two or three course options. We went for two courses at $55 per person. We ordered the ‘Duck Terrine with fig jam and sourdough’, ‘Pumpkin & Feta Arancini’ and the ‘Scotch Egg’ as the entree courses. Each of these dishes tasted absolutely delicious and was the perfect way to start our lunch. The Duck Terrine and Fig Jam spread together on the sourdough was a great balance of flavours. I usually eat duck parfait and I have it alone on bread but I think the terrine needed the sweetness of the jam. I am a huge fan of Arancini so no surprise, I enjoyed the ones they served up here. Crispy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside! Scotch Egg was really good too especially with the sauce! Perfect entree course for a cool winters day. It’s just such a hearty dish. Next, came the mains. For variety, we ordered a chicken, beef and a pasta dish. I am not a huge fan of chicken but this was a delicious dish! The chicken was cooked beautifully, wasn’t dry and it paired well with the gorgeous, golden potatoes and what seems to be a cauliflower rice containing sweet cranberries. The beef dish was by far my favourite. It felt apart at the touch of a fork. It was tender and the mash it came with, was the smoothest and creamiest mash I’ve ever had. I was just so impressed by this dish! The pasta was a Blue Swimmer Crab linguine in a garlic, tomato, chilli and white wine sauce. Can’t go wrong with this combo and of course, it was a delicious dish, especially since the pasta was cooked perfectly. Our plan was to stick to two courses but when I saw this poached pear dessert come out for someone else, I just had to make an order for it. It was definitely worth it! Amazing textures and flavours and the perfect way to finish what was a filling and delicious lunch.⠀

My sister and I took a spontaneous trip to Bowral one Friday afternoon and this place was highly recommended by so many friends. It did not disappoint! According to the website, Harry's was named after renowned English Nurseryman and Horticulturist named Sir Harry Veitch who sent out plant hunters all over the world to source and bring home 'exotic treasures' for his clientele. The interiors is an eclectic mix of all sorts of treasures from framed artworks, tapestries, plants and ornately framed mirrors. There is a huge wall full of shelves filled with books, with a doorway leading to an intimate dining space for 2 tables. There are also nods to English living with antique dovefailed furniture that appear to be from the 1800s. So charming! Due to covid, bookings are essential. My sister and I booked for an early dinner at 6pm al fresco because it was a warm day but otherwise would have loved to eat indoors. The staff were so nice and accommodating, periodically checking in to see if we needed anything. The food itself was so delicious! Great flavours and tasted really fresh. We opted for a 2 course menu at $65pp and shared a dessert. I ordered the Crab Linguini while my sister had the crumbed Salmon on a bed of lentils. Dessert was the divine Bread & Butter pudding. Will 100% come back here to try other items on their menu.

This place is an absolute gem and was a total suprise as we came in. You walk into a courtyard with what is a mix of French and potentially Italian decor. There are tables and chairs outside and is a very comfortable and relaxed vibe with plenty of plants and an orangery building at the rear which is a quaint looking shop. We were greeted at the door and quickly ushered to our table. Sitting against books and lots of old style art in beautiful frames the setting is quirky but stylish. Brenda was our waitress and she honestly made the day with a great fun attitude and full of helpful recommendations. I ordered the aranchini and crab linguine for main and my wife ordered the bruscetta and aglio olio pasta. Both were fantastic and as Brenda had recommended the crab linguine is one of the best I've had and people travel there to have that dish. Brenda also recommended an amazing soave wine which paired amazingly with the pasta. All in all this is well priced and the meals came out quickly though with enough time to not feel rushed. I highly recommend this place and we will return Hopefully we are served by Brenda again as she was a big part of this being a great experience!!!

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant but unfortunately it was a letdown. Our entree (the cucumber avocado prawn dish) main component was probably the avocado but it had zero flavour and just tasted like plain avocado. No special sauce or seasoning to lift the vegetables, only the prawns had a nice flavour, everything else seemed just like chopped and plated. Truffle fries not worth it at all, could barely taste the truffle it was more cheese fries than anything. The fries also tasted “floury” for lack of a better description. Crab pasta was just ok, having had lots of similar seafood based pastas (including crab) from different cafes in sydney, I’ve definitely had better and for cheaper too. Lastly steak dish… just gave plain RSL vibes😭 I think our expectations were just too high, maybe our fault we didn’t really thoroughly read through reviews and just went off the overall google rating and what we’ve seen in recommended videos. Just judging from the vibe and the menu and especially the pricing, we just didn’t feel that the quality matched what we paid for.

THIS PLACE exudes class and sophistication from the moment you step in the door... cathedral ceilings 7 metres high accommodate shelves of books stacked to the ceiling, while beautifully furnished numerous rooms and nooks create an intimate atmosphere whether you're dropping in for coffee or settling in for a casual lunch. Our seat for four was by the fire which cancelled the winter chill outside. Charming, casual service from waiter Aurelian ensured every request and order was smoothly accomplished. A crab linguine with al dente pasta was loaded with crab pieces, while others at our table enjoyed everything from traditional dishes to string fries and cheese platters, some washed down with excellent local wines from Cherry Tree Hill. Excellent coffee to finish. Price is reasonable for upmarket Cafe food served in an exclusive atmosphere and wine menu offers a broad selection of local and international fare at a wide range of prices to suit. Extremely comfortable environment that most will enjoy.
