Nepalese momos - those little bundles of joy filled with spiced meat or veg - are a staple in Nepal, but you don’t need to trek to Kathmandu to get your fix. Tucked away in Nundah, 8848 Momo House serves up these dumplings in all their glory: steamed, fried, kothey-style pan-fried, and more, with enough variations to satisfy any craving. We ordered 30 momos to share - steamed chicken, deep-fried buffalo, and kothey pan-fried pork - all for about $50. They arrived with two house sauces: a tangy, flavorful blend and a chili sauce that doesn’t pull punches. The momos were fantastic, each style and filling offering something unique. But a word of advice: treat the deep-fried ones with caution. One bite into that golden shell, and you could find yourself met with a burst of molten filling. The place is low-key, with a comfortable vibe that shows care without trying too hard. It’s the kind of spot that lets the food do the talking. Beyond the momos, you’ll find other Nepalese street food favorites like pork sekuwa, chow chow sadeko, and marinated chicken wings. 8848 Momo House might look unassuming, but it’s packing serious flavor. If you’re in Nundah, don’t just walk by - stop, sit, and dig in.

Terrible Experience – Unprofessional Staff and Owner Our recent visit to 8848 Momo House Nundah was nothing short of disappointing. We ordered the Sukuti Khaja Set, and the Bhatta Sadheko came with absolutely no salt. When we asked for salt, they brought us sugar instead. And unbelievably, the owner tasted the salt himself and served it to us, which was extremely unhygienic and unprofessional. There was no apology or attempt to fix the issue. On top of that, the service was very slow and careless. To make things worse, we had ordered Chicken Lollipop but were served Chicken Wings instead—without any explanation or notification. After leaving an honest review while still at the restaurant, I went to pay the bill and the owner confronted me about the review, arguing instead of acknowledging the issues. He claimed he “could’ve compensated” but never once offered an apology or showed accountability. The situation escalated, and it ended with an argument and me walking out without paying, and the owner telling me to never come back again—which I absolutely will not. This place seriously lacks customer service, professionalism, and basic courtesy. Would never recommend.

I ordered 1 veg C momo and 1 chicken C momo ,1 chicken jhol momo and chowmein from the restaurant, something I’ve enjoyed many times before. Unfortunately, this time the experience was quite disappointing. The food was extremely spicy especially c momo I know it is meant to be spicy but — much more than usual. I actually had to dip my momos in ketchup and even my friend’s soup just to be able to eat them. I even separated the sauce from the C momo, but the spice level was still overwhelming. The chicken C momo was also very soggy, even though it was meant to be fried. The dumpling dough didn’t taste fresh or well made, and overall, the texture was just off. Another letdown was the atmosphere — the staff present seemed very unapproachable. When we went to pay, no one asked how the food was. We simply paid and left, feeling quite unsatisfied. I used to love coming here because the momos were always yummy, but this time it just didn’t live up to the usual standard. I hope the quality and service can improve, because I know how good it used to be.
