🌸 Absolutely one of my favourite Japanese restaurants 🇯🇵 If you’ve been disappointed by non authentic ‘Japanese’ places, you need to try this one The staff are Japanese and super kind, the interior feels just like Japan, and the food is amazing! I’ve had both lunch and dinner here and everything was delicious and made with care The lunch set comes with a tasty chicken broth instead of plain miso soup, and even the salad has tofu ? on top 🥗🍲 I especially love their tomato hamburger steak They offer all you can eat sukiyaki and shabu shabu and all the dishes are fresh, flavorful, and well priced Highly recommend this place, a true hidden gem 💎✨

We have to book a table in advance. It was super crowded Friday night, so ensure you arrive on time. We ordered a $47 per-person hot pot. We chose sukiyaki (sweet & salty flavour) for the soup base. It was lovely but tasty, and the staff suggested mixing it with water. You will get unlimited sliced wagyu beef, which is delicious and high-quality, and unlimited veggies, rice, and raw eggs. We enjoyed the experience a lot; the dining time was 90 minutes, enough for us to finish two trays of beef. We will definitely come again to try the other flavour as well.

This is my first review. I've never seen such bad service in Brisbane before. I called to reserve a table and the waiter said they were available at 5:30 and needed to finish the meal by 7:00. I asked again if there is any other time available. He didn't answer, but emphasized it again in a very bad tone. I said okay, we don't need it. The waiter actually hung up the phone! I have been living in Brisbane for two years and this is the first time I have encountered this kind of service. It is really rare for Japanese people to have such a bad attitude!

Well first of all, we had to ask for service 3 times even though we came in for a reserved seat. That alone ruined the experience for me. Then the table wasn't set and I had to ask for a set of chopsticks and when that arrived and I tried to use it then discovered law and behold...it was a used set of chopsticks. After we alerted the waitress to it she just took it away and never came back with a set of new chopsticks. They may have good food but service is atrocious, it seems like the waiter and waitress is lost and completely overwhelmed and consumed in their world! It's sad because I came here before and the service and food were wonderful. Sadly it has fallen into the wrong management or they have employed the wrong people to run their front of house and if I was the owner would seek to find new employees, ones that are friendly, competent and able to service a small family restaurant.

We had to ask multiple times for getting any service during the night and each time got the classic "please wait a moment", so many moments that it amounted to an hour of moments. Not the kind of moments I want from a restaurant.

There are way better restaurants in Brisbane now which offer what Bishamon provide and this will be my last visit here and for my friends.

Thank you and...

All you can eat shabu shabu or sukiyaki! After a slightly disappointing first visit in August 2017, we decided to try Bishamon again! We were so glad that we did. My husband and I chose the shabu shabu and took the all you can eat option for $34.50 per head. It was delicious - we tried both the wagyu beef (very tasty and tender) and the pork. The meal comes with a bowl of rice each and some dipping sauces and it's really good value if you're hungry. BYO for $2.70 per head was a plus and the staff were very friendly and nice! We'll be back to try the sukiyaki!

5 August 2017 - Rating 3 We went there with some friends and in hindsight we probably should have ordered a shabu shabu or sukiyaki hotpot because that was what all the Asian diners were eating. Instead we ordered some entrees which were quite good and our main meals from the specials board. Unfortunately the meals were not so special - my crispy pork and vegetable noodles was acceptable but the chicken and vegetables was not what we expected with a couple of pieces of strange processed chicken roll and unappetising starchy vegetables. It was also a bit expensive - especially as it was so...

I would recommend the food was fine and valued as 37/pp for sukiyaki.

The service experience was very bad and disappointed about the rude senior waitress!

We made a reservation by phone this morning and she mentioned about there were no hotpot and sukiyaki at lunch time which wasn’t shown on their online menu. Therefore , we were a little bit shocked as we were heading to have hotpot and sukiyaki today. We thought about to change the time to dinner or still go there for lunch, but the waitress was impatient and said 「do you still want to book it or not?」We needed a little bit time to think and it wasn’t even 10 seconds ... However, we made a reservation at 17:30, but arrived at 17:36 as traffic we felt sorry about the late but she said 「You have to leave at 19:00!」when we just sat at the table! We understood we had only 90 mins for the hotpot and sukiyaki set, and we knew we were late so we wouldn’t negotiate about the minutes but it was really mean about the way she said to us! Anyway, food was okay, service experience was extremely bad and I would never go again and neither recommend to friends...
