Wow! Vega Cafe undoubtedly disproves that plant based cuisine lacks in any way. My wife and I enjoyed an amazing culinary experience and left feeling hugely satisfied and almost overfull.

Upon arrival the cafe was quiet, so we selected a table indoors due to the cold weather, although outdoor seating was also available. The two gents working were both friendly and helpful, so I can't fault their service.

Once we'd made our decisions, we ordered via QR and sipped on table water until the meals arrived. They did so within 10-15 minutes, although a sudden flurry of customers caused delays on our hot drinks. They eventually arrived another 15 minutes later which, although a little unusual, did not bother us at all.

Our meals, the Vega Omelette and Gunnen (tofu and assorted veges with satay sauce) were superb. Perfectly cooked, professionally presented, and loaded with flavour. The omelette was creamy and packed with mushrooms, chickpeas and a host of other goodies, while my wife loved every aspect of her meal, right down to the texture/crisp of her broccolini.

We also ordered a side of cauliflower buffalo wings which, for me, were heavenly. I couldn't get enough of them, and the accompanying slaw was stunning; rich, creamy, some tartness, and magical when paired with the cauliflower. I'd go back just to eat bowls of that, to be honest.

For drinks, we had a Flat White on soy and a Butterfly Pea Latte. My wife really enjoyed her coffee, which surprised me as she's usually a full cream dairy girl, so well done to Vega for making it so well. My Latte was an unusual concoction that I enjoyed but, if visiting again, would probably aim for my usual Chai or even Matcha Latte. It was still nice, don't get me wrong, but the others are better.

Last but not least, we grabbed a couple of pastries from the display cabinet, to be eaten later. Let's hope they taste as good as they look.

In summary, visiting Vega Cafe was an excellent decision. Service and drinks were great, while the meals were outstanding. We were really impressed and would return in a heartbeat....

It was my mothers birthday lunch yesterday and I had ordered for dessert some of the popular chocolate brownies as usual and and the green cashew slice, but this time asked Gifty if she could bake a whole berry cake we had recently enjoyed from Vega cafe. Gifty kindly baked a lovely cake with the specific focus, had added some walnuts and there is a berry sauce as well, and everyone loved it. The presentation was beautiful as always. Will add photo's when i work that out. Thank you Gifty.

and 6 months ago To add to the below review made about a month ago...

I was preparing for a BBQ party at home for the weekend and went in to order some desserts as they have about 6 varieties of GF/DF slices/cakes as well as their many other vegan desserts... there is such a great selection. I ordered some of my favourites and all of my guests absolutely loved them and it was so easy to cater to everyone by ordering GF/DF for everyone. I also discovered they do catering, which would be so supportive for other events at home or work. Lovely people, great customer service, great food, in fact I was surprised how there is such great variety. My husband and I are GF DF, not vegan but I took my husband there for a lunch date for a different experience and the food not only looked beautiful, it was absolutely delicious.Every detail is taken care of. I have also had GF DF desserts there and snacks which are super well done, high quality and absolutely...

OMG okay, so like… you have to go to Vega Café! 💖✨ I went the other day and I swear I’ve never felt so like… spiritually full? Like not just in my tummy but like… my heart and stuff? I don’t know, it’s hard to explain. 😂

So first of all, it's all vegan—like, totally plant-based! 🥬🌱 No animals, no guilt, just yum. And I’m not even like, a full-time vegan or anything, but this food was SO good I didn’t even miss meat. Like, there’s this one thing—murtabah? I don’t even know if I’m saying that right (lol), but it’s like a crispy roti taco-y thing and it has this curried filling that tastes like magic. Literal magic. ✨🧙‍♀️

Also, the vibe? Ugh, soooo cute. It’s in this adorable little courtyard with all these flowers and murals and good smells and like, chill fairy energy or something. 🌸🧚‍♀️ You just feel… calm? Like the kind of place where you can sip your chai and suddenly you're like, "Wait, maybe I am the universe." 😍

And the people there—OMG, the NICEST. The lady at the counter smiled at me and I swear I felt healed. Like girl, yes, beam that energy into my soul! 😭💞 They made me feel so welcome, I almost cried into my oat milk latte (which was SO GOOD btw, 12/10).

Anyway, I’m not gonna get all deep or whatever but like… something about Vega Café just made me feel more connected to everything? Like I went in for lunch and walked out with a life epiphany. I don't even know what it is yet but it’s coming. 😅💫

Five stars, duh. If you’re into delicious food, good vibes, and accidental enlightenment, you HAVE to go. Like go now. I’ll probably be...

Q: What’s the atmosphere like at Vega Café, Brisbane? The café has a nice, relaxed vibe with friendly staff and a modern setting. It’s a popular spot for coffee and brunch. However, the presentation and cleanliness could be improved. When we sat down, our table still had water on it and hadn’t been wiped and the baby chair was also left dirty. I understand things are outdoors, but a minimum level of cleaning and presentation would really improve the customer experience. Q: How is the food quality? The food overall was good, but a little hit and miss. The Shibuya toast was delicious and well done, but the acai bowl was underwhelming – very small for the price, with only minimal granola and toppings. It didn’t feel like good value compared to what other Brisbane cafés offer for acai. Q: How are the portion sizes and value for money? The toast and some dishes felt worth it, but the acai was disappointing for the cost. If portion sizes and toppings were a little more generous, it would feel like much better value. Q: Would you recommend Vega Café? Yes, but with some reservations. It’s a nice spot for coffee and certain dishes, but the lack of attention to cleaning and the underwhelming acai bowl stopped it from being a nicer experience. With just a little more care for presentation and consistency, this café could easily become one a much better vegan brunch spot in Brisbane. [Follow my adventures on instagram @crushinglimits]

INCREDIBLE 😻😋✨ I couldn't recommend this place more!! What an absolute gem of a find. I first came for a brunch and was really craving something sweet and saw they did Shibuya style toast which is something I have dreamt of trying in a vegan version since forever so was overjoyed to see it! And it really exceeded my very high expectations. The fruit was all so flavoursome and the toast itself super fluffy combined with the perfect level of cream and ice cream what a treat!! I had to come back when I was next in Brisbane to try a savoury dish and chose the Murtabah- woah! I was once again blown away by how delicious the flavours were and so beautifully presented. The spice level was just perfect and the texture of the whole dish felt right too. Very unique I have never had anything quite like it before. I also got a croissant to take away for later and equally impressed- the flavour was amazing I chose the tiramisu cream one! The perfect flaky texture and not dry at all probably the best vegan croissant I've ever had. On top of the incredible food quality the staff are also so so lovely. And the space itself is gorgeous and light, feels very relaxing and calm environment to sit and eat in. Plus they have outdoor seating in both sun and shade if you feel like it. I really hope I get to come back here again at some point.
