It is with deep regret and frustration that I must share my negative experience at Broken Hearts Burger Club. Having heard rave reviews about this establishment, my expectations were high, especially since I am an ardent burger enthusiast. However, my recent visit left me disheartened and dissatisfied, as the burger I received failed to meet even the most basic standards of taste and quality.
To begin with, the presentation of the burger was subpar. It arrived at my table looking haphazardly assembled, with the toppings and sauces unevenly distributed, giving the impression of carelessness on the part of the kitchen staff. The burger bun was dry and lacked the soft, fresh texture that is essential for a satisfying burger experience. This alone set the tone for the meal, leaving me doubtful about the quality of the ingredients used.
The patty, touted as the heart of any burger joint, was a huge disappointment. It lacked seasoning and tasted bland, almost as if it had been frozen and reheated rather than freshly prepared. Additionally, the patty was overcooked and dry, resulting in an unpleasant, chewy texture that was difficult to swallow. I found myself reaching for my drink after every bite just to wash down the unappetizing taste.
Moreover, the burger was advertised to come with a selection of fresh, crisp vegetables as toppings. However, what I received was far from fresh. The lettuce was wilted and appeared to have been sitting out for far too long, while the tomatoes were tasteless and mushy. The lack of attention to detail was evident, and it seemed as though the ingredients had been carelessly tossed onto the burger without any consideration for quality.
Adding to the disappointment was the choice of cheese. The menu promised a rich and flavorful cheese, but what I got was a barely melted, unremarkable slice that did nothing to enhance the overall taste of the burger. It seemed as if the cheese had been added as an afterthought, rather than an integral part of the dish.
Perhaps the most disheartening aspect of this experience was the lack of response from the staff when I expressed my concerns about the burger. Instead of acknowledging the issues and offering a solution, they seemed indifferent and uninterested in my feedback. This lack of customer care only added to my frustration and confirmed that the establishment's commitment to quality was questionable at best.
In conclusion, my visit to Broken Hearts Burger Club was a major letdown. The poorly presented burger, tasteless patty, lackluster toppings, and indifferent customer service left a bitter taste in my mouth. As a dedicated burger enthusiast, I had hoped for an exceptional dining experience, but what I received was far from it. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Broken Hearts Burger Club to anyone seeking a memorable burger experience, as it failed to deliver on its promises and left me with a broken heart for all the...
Read moreIt is rare for me to give a low rating but I was pretty disappointed by this store. I have visited the one in West End before and had a great experience so I decided to give the Morningside store a try since it was closer to me.
We ordered from the QR code and waited a little bit over half an hour for our order to be ready. By the 20 minute mark, I was wondering why our order wasn’t ready yet as there were people who ordered after us and got their orders already.
I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as I could see they were busy. After another 10 minutes, I kept seeing others that had ordered after us, getting their orders first. So my partner went up to ask, and saw that there was a bag sitting on the counter for a while that supposedly hadn’t been called out. He asked if it was ours, and they said yes. I was slightly annoyed as they hadn’t called out our order name during the whole time that it was sitting on the counter, so we could have taken our order and left ages ago. I tried to not let it upset me as again, I could see they were busy.
After we walked out, we checked the bag and thought we had one burger missing. So we went back and told them and they pointed out that it was hiding under the fries. As that was our fault for not checking properly and assuming, I was not annoyed at that.
We drove home and when we got home, I was starving and ready to eat the burger and fries. When we opened up the burgers from their packaging, we realised that we were given the wrong burger for one of them. Which was so irritating as we had paid more for the Fancy version and got the Classic instead. It was partly our fault for not triple checking, but the order should have been correct in the first place. Then again, mistakes happen, so again I got over it.
What tipped me completely over the edge, was the fact that the FRIES were completely overcooked, to the point where it was dry and tough, like cardboard. It wasn’t even edible at that point. I only ate it to not waste it as it did cost money but it was completely unenjoyable. The actual burgers are good but it’s not worth it enough for me to come back again.
So yeah, long story short, I probably wouldn’t recommend coming to this...
Read moreIt was love at first bite, and I've been pining for round 2. First tried a Broken Hearts Burger Club burger at one of their pop-ups last year, and have been pumped to visit their new permanent store. Can confirm I’m still fully in love. Brought the wife this time and she’s onboard too!
Our order: Classic double $13 + Oklahoma style (smashed grilled onion) $2 Fancy single $11 - classic + lettuce, tomato, onion Cheesy fries for sharing $12 + fry sauce $2 Biscoff shake (secret menu) $8.50?
I'd previously tried a classic double so this time wanted to get the Oklahoma variation, and the taste was as good as I remembered. The fancy option was nice too and I appreciated these few variations on the classic. That's pretty much all the options you'll get though in this tight and laser focussed menu. There are additions being considered, but you can be sure nothing will hit the menu until it's been perfected to their high standards and can be made to work within their finely tuned processes.
I also loved the Biscoff shake - it's not on the menu but if you know to ask for it you might get lucky. Not too sweet, and with plenty of biscuit chunks throughout. Pairs really well with mouthfuls of burger.
The fries were pretty good too but if anything the lack of a plain fries option for the sharing size is one thing I'd change. The fry sauce is a good option to dip your fries in, and towards the end of my meal I even tried dipping my burger in just a little bit - it was a spur of the moment thing but I could be onto...
