Conveniently located next to a yummy Vietnamese canteen, so you can grab a Banh mi to go with a lovely consistent coffee. Bunker does well in most aspects of making the coffee experience pretty special. The space is intimate and cute, it's functional and aesthetically pleasing and it's friendly and welcoming. I ordered my 6oz FW and it looked very nice indeed and taste was delicious.
The only downside I have is that the coffee was not hot enough, this has to do with the disappointment of having being served in plastic cups. I felt like I was at a Toddlers pool party rather than awesome little cafe.
All in all I feel the milk needs to be heated a few more degrees to counteract the lack of insulation of the cups because they just don't hold the heat.. What happened to the good old days where cups were warmed on top of the coffee machine, so that when your ready to drink coffee was made the delicately heated cup maintained that ready to drink temperature? Perhaps I'm old fashioned, but it seems these little touches made a good coffee...
Read moreCoffee and service here are 5-stars! It's also great that they offer a macadamia milk option. Another plus is the prices are transparent; so no ridicilous hidden card surcharges on the back end, which I appreciate. Loses a star because, while the atmosphere is quaint, the seating is very limited. It's not really their fault due to limited space, but there is only really seating capacity for about 4 or 5 parties. They do handle it as best as possible given the tight space. The other dowside is the coffee is a bit pricey and they charge $1.05 for alternative milk, which is much higher than the standard $0.70 charged by other premium coffee shoppes that also using the same alternative dairy co products. I don't blame them for the unusually high prices either since they need to keep customers at bay given the limited seating. Personally, I am happy to pay the higher price for the quality coffee and excellent service they offer. I will come back here next time I...
Read moreOne of the best coffee shops in Brisbane! Bunker Coffee has been around for quite some time now, and there is a good reason why they are still here; they know how to make a good cup of coffee! I literally kept saying "gad dayam" with each sip :)
They are situated in Milton in a converted WWII bomb shelter, covered in vines and only 2-4 minutes walk from Milton train station. It's only a small space with limited seating out front.
I've had great batch brew and oat milk flat whites from here, and you can even take home some beans! I really enjoyed the Blend from pacemaker which is a mix of Columbian and Ethiopian beans; perfect as a espresso, with milk or even as a black coffee in the French press.
I think the coffee prices are reasonable, especially given the amazing sustainable brands they stock and quality of the cup of coffee you get. I never hesitate to pay more for a excellent cup of coffee and will drive to the other side of...
