Came for lunch, left without having lunch. Very disappointing experience.
In summary customer service, kitchen, timings - very poor.
I arrived, chose a table and asked where the restroom was, the staff pointed and said "it's over there", over there was the entrance so I was non the wiser as to where the restroom was. I was given the key by another member of staff but could not get the key in the lock. I returned to the front and explained that I was having an issue and was told "yes you CAN open the door"! Thankfully another member of staff offered to help, by this point I was starting to get annoyed with being spoken down to and shooed away.
Not a great first impression.
The plan was to dine in during a lunch break before returning back to work. I order a halloumi wrap which came with avo, when it came there was no avo and was not as well prepared or tasty as ones I had previously had. I took it back to the front, the member of staff apologised and said the right order would be with me shortly. I waited 10 minutes, at which point I was running out of time and had been there for half an hour. I went back to the front again, explained that I was still waiting and that I need the order to take away as only had a few minutes until I had to leave. I waited, still no order, I said that I had to leave and was told that my ordered had been mistakenly taken to another table!
I left with nothing and went back to work with an empty stomach for the rest of the day.
Very dissatisfied. Felt like a heartless, fast paced, conveyor belt.
This business model is "convenience" and on this occasion you did not even meet that! I have nothing good to say other than the place seemed clean and that is not enough to make me want...
Read moreDined here for lunch yesterday, service was awful. Waited at the door to be seated when I arrived, as you do at every Cafe 63, the person working the floor treated me like it was an inconvenience to even talk to me and then waved me off saying sit wherever. I chose a table and sat down, same person came over handed me a menu and straight away kept insisting I order a drink to start without giving me any time, like I instantly know the massive menu. Meanwhile I noticed there was some water spilt on the table, I asked if they had a cloth to wipe it off, which apparently was too hard and so they instead tried to force me to another table, I said no this is fine it is just some water to wipe away, they went off to grab a napkin, walked back and dropped it on the table for me to do the cleaning, because clearly as the customer it's my job to clean their tables. Again, all too hard. Got ignored for a while even though I was making it very obvious I was ready to order. When food did come out there was no cutlery or butter, had to ask, both basic process for servers at other Cafe 63 I've visited. Food was okay, toast and bacon were both cold and dry, like they had sat in the kitchen a long time. Portions were also smaller than I've seen at other Cafe 63. When I went to pay there was no interaction, please or thanks, like the server had done me a favour even waiting on me. Clearly they were having a bad day or took particular disliking to me, but the place wasn't busy and lack of effort to detail was just poor service. Generally speaking I've always had a decent experience at Cafe 63, this was my first time at this particular one and I won't be...
